If you need any more proof that Hollywood is out of touch with America, take a peek at the Oscar gift bags that are valued at $232,800 a pop. The price isn’t even the most disturbing part. Usually the gift bags are delivered to the losers, but this year all 25 nominees plus the host, Chris Rock, are offered a bag of strange private vacations, weird goodies and even plastic surgeries.
The Oscars were once an elegant event that recognized the incredible performances and creativity in film. Now, they’re just another ploy to market big-ticket items.
