Most celebrities who have reacted publicly to the recent terror attacks in Manchester at the Ariana Grande concert shared sentiments of shock and heartfelt condolences to the families of those lost or injured.

But it was only a matter of time before those reactions evolved into the usual mindless, partisan and elitist sound bites we tend to hear out of Hollywood.

Singer Katy Perry broke the ice for celebrities by politicizing the awful attack when she did an interview Tuesday on the “Elvis Duran and the Morning Show.”

“Whatever we say behind people’s backs, the internet can be a little bit ruthless as far as fan bases go, but I think that the greatest thing we can do is just unite and love on each other,” Perry said. “No barriers, no borders, we all just need to coexist.”

Perhaps “politicizing” is the wrong word. This is air-headed preaching. “No barriers” and “no borders,” eh? Wonder if Perry lives in an open area with no fences, no guards, no security measures at all …

Some have rightly mocked the star for her preachy and elitist attitude toward the situation.

Not surprisingly, Perry is a vocal critic of President Donald Trump and was a big-time supporter of warmonger Hillary Clinton.

Statements like Perry’s anger struggling people and turn them against Hollywood. While her head is in the clouds and she preaches and drones on about solutions and sentiments that have little to do with reality, regular people are dealing with the tragic reality of “no borders” and “no barriers” — terrorism.

But don’t worry, everybody. Perry has a plan. And you can rest assured that in the coming days and weeks, there will be plenty more statements like this coming out of the mouths of celebrities.

Some artists have had a very different take on the Monday night attack. British singer Morrissey tore into his own politicians in a Facebook post for their elitism and for being unwilling to admit Islamic extremism is behind such violence.

“Theresa May says such attacks ‘will not break us,’ but her own life is lived in a bullet-proof bubble, and she evidently does not need to identify any young people today in Manchester morgues,” Morrissey wrote of Britain’s prime minister. “Also, ‘will not break us’ means that the tragedy will not break her, or her policies on immigration. The young people of Manchester are already broken — thanks all the same, Theresa.”

He continued, “Politicians tell us they are unafraid, but they are never the victims. How easy to be unafraid when one is protected from the line of fire. The people have no such protections.”
