Dolly Parton is one of the few celebrities who “really gets it,” said Laura Ingraham, host of Fox News’ “The Ingraham Angle,” on Monday night.

Ingraham contrasted a recent ABC interview the country singer did with Sunday night’s highly divisive and political Oscars.

The singer and “9 to 5” star repeatedly refused to answer any political questions in her interview. She stuck to her guns.

“I’m not getting into any of that,” she said when David Wright of ABC’s “Nightline” kept trying to get her to comment on today’s politics. “I have a lot of fans out there and don’t want to offend anybody. Besides, I just don’t get into that. If you are deciding you may want to ask me something more serious, don’t, because I’m not going to answer it.”

The interviewer later tried to compare President Donald Trump to the villainous boss in “9 to 5” — but Parton was “having none of it,” as Ingraham noted.

“Keep your damn mouth shut if you’re going to stay in show business,” said Parton when responding to why she doesn’t venture into political commentary.

This message is so “much more unifying,” noted Ingraham, than what a whole array of celebrities spewed Sunday night during the televised Oscars.

Considering the horrible ratings for Sunday night’s telecast of the Academy Awards, perhaps they should take a few notes from Parton.
