Singer David Crosby apparently found a fire that killed one person and left several others injured to be quite funny.

Why would he find such a thing humorous?

Because the fire occurred at Trump Tower, of course.

After a fire was reported in Manhattan at Trump Tower on Fifth Avenue, Crosby tweeted out on Saturday night, “Burn baby burn.”

A Twitter user then asked the 76-year-old musician if he was referring to the Trump Tower fire.

Crosby’s response? “Yes Jeffrey.”

The fire left 67-year-old art dealer Todd Brassner dead. Several firefighters were also injured.

Crosby has since deleted both his tweets.

The musician — formerly of The Byrds as well as Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young — has long been a critic of the president, but this sort of blind rage is always surprising.

If you are so against a democratically elected president that you cheer for fatal fires at a building that bears his name and that is home to a number of families and businesses  — then you seriously need to re-examine why you feel so strongly.

Creative people are supposed to carry with them an empathy for people and the world. If Crosby really does find the Trump Tower fire funny, then he lost that empathy a long, long time ago.
