Ever since the 2016 presidential election results came in, comedian Chelsea Handler has become one of the most divisive and sometimes clueless celebrities in Hollywood.

She has suggested an authoritarian law that would land her in jail.

She revealed she would not interview Melania Trump because she thought the first lady could barely speak English. In reality, Mrs. Trump speaks five languages.

Handler also carelessly blamed the recent California fires on the president.

And mind you, this is a celebrity who claims her Netflix talk show ended so that she could focus more on activism … some activist.

Only hours after the tragic Florida school shooting on Wednesday, Handler’s Twitter thumbs were typing away more divisive and predictable filth.

“We have to elect candidates that are not funded by the NRA in November. We have an opportunity to elect candidates who won’t allow kids to go to school and get shot. It is disgusting how many times this has happened and Republicans do nothing. You all have blood on your hands,” she wrote.

Having a gun control debate with celebrities on the far Left is pointless right now. They have a position and won’t budge or discuss it at all. To disagree is to be inhuman to them — as Handler’s tweet further indicates. They can make up fairy tale statistics all they want, but it’s been shown time and time again that gun control has the opposite effect as intended.

Yet that likely matters very little to millionaires who live in the self-made bubble of Hollywood. Whether these worked or not, gun control laws would help these people sleep a little easier and feel accomplished — so forget results.

That’s neither here nor there. The real issue now is how quickly and viciously celebrities such as Handler use their platforms to politicize a tragedy. They use events like Florida as cannon fodder to make a sad and tired point they never expound upon or are willing to debate.

What good does it do to say people who disagree with you have “blood on their hands”? In what way are you helping the culture to grow, or people to heal?

It does no good, but Handler doesn’t care. It also didn’t do the culture or the world any good to mock the way an immigrant spoke English or to hysterically blame the president for wildfires. That didn’t stop Handler from doing either of those. What an activist.
