The outrage over the death of Cecil the lion has now hit Hollywood.

Actors and other celebrities including Ricky Gervais, Sharon Osbourne, Betty White, Debra Messing and Jimmy Kimmel are sharing their overflow of grief about the death of the famous black-maned lion, Cecil, at the hands of Minnesota dentist and big game hunter, Dr. Walter Palmer.

Social media exploded this week after the news of Cecil’s death circulated. Celebrities rushed into the cyber trenches as well. Jimmy Kimmel cried on camera while detailing the news accounts surrounding the late lion via his late night show.

Betty White, the beloved actress known for her animal rights efforts, told the Associated Press, “You don’t want to hear some of the things I want to do to that man.” Sharon Osbourne went so far as to dub Palmer “Satan” on her Twitter feed. Mia Farrow tweeted out the address of Palmer’s dentist practice, then deleted the tweet later.

“You don’t want to hear some of the things I want to do to that man.”

Palmer has apologized for his actions, saying he mistakenly thought he was legally approved to hunt in the area of Zimbabwe where Cecil lived.

Hollywood has been more reserved about the controversial videos that contain graphic descriptions of and callous references to unborn babies and Planned Parenthood’s abortion practices. And the news media has followed a similar path. Newsbusters reports that broadcast news shows have covered Cecil’s death in just a few days far more than the Planned Parenthood videos that have been available for roughly two weeks.
