When an issue becomes politicized in the United States, it’s only a matter of time before a bunch of leftist celebrities jump in and thrown their weight around (and their money) into the cause, too — whether or not regular Americans care about their opinions.

This Saturday, celebrities will be lining the streets (and no doubt, making speeches) along with gun control advocates during the March for Our Lives protests. The event’s official website says there will be 840 demonstrations worldwide, with the main one occurring in Los Angeles — likely so that celebrities can attend and earn extra press attention. Other marches will occur in Washington, D.C., New York City, Chicago, Boston, and more.

This week, David Hogg — who survived the Parkland, Florida, shooting and has been making the rounds in the media to tout gun control — told his friends at CNN that female pop stars Ariana Grande, Demi Lovato, Jennifer Hudson, and Miley Cyrus are expected to march in Los Angeles on Saturday.

Billboard reported a lengthy list of celebrity involvement in the events, such as financial support (Oprah Winfrey, George Clooney, Jimmy Fallon, Dwayne Wade, etc.), live music performances expected prior to the event (Fall Out Boy, G-Eazy, Bebe Rexha, and Lizzo) — and notable public supporters of the event (Jimmy Kimmel, Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, Kim Kardashian, Justin Timberlake, and others).

The support from celebrities has varied, but most of them seem clearly in lockstep: They want stricter gun laws.

To be sure, some of them say they support the children who survived the shooting.

Others take everything that has happened as an opportunity to attack law-abiding gun owners, the NRA, and elected officials who don’t want to infringe upon the Second Amendment. And naturally, many attack President Donald Trump.

What’s ironic about all of this celebrity “support” is that most of these A-list stars live in gated communities and are protected by armed bodyguards when they’re in public or at award shows. Yet these are the same leftists who want America to open its borders and get rid of its firearms?

There was also a heavy celebrity presence at the Women’s March after President Trump was sworn into office in 2017 — so it would not be surprising if this event paralleled that one.

If it does, be ready for some off-the-rails statements from celebrities. Just one example from the Women’s March came from actress Ashley Judd.

“Mustache traded for a toupée,” she said. “Nazis renamed the cabinet. Electro conversion therapy the new gas chambers shaming the gay out of America, turning rainbows into suicide notes. I am not as nasty as racism, fraud, conflict of interest, homophobia, sexual assault, transphobia, white supremacy, misogyny, ignorance, [and] white privilege.”

Yes. She really tried comparing Trump and his cabinet to Adolf Hitler and the Nazis. That’s a great way to lose credibility really fast.

That’s worse than Harvey Weinstein marching for the rights of women. Seriously — that actually happened last year.

Be on the lookout for more absurdities from these marches over the weekend, especially from Hollywood’s stars.
