Conservatism should be all about making people’s lives better, and yet there are disagreements within the movement about just how to do that, LifeZette Editor-in-Chief Laura Ingraham says.

Ingraham, who appeared Wednesday on “On the Record” with Greta Van Susteren, said it seems more and more that the GOP elite are worried Donald Trump is going to win in November — and they’re worried they might not have the influence they once had within the party.

“I think the sky’s the limit for the Republican Party, but not if everybody goes back into their corner,” said Ingraham. “What matters is this group of Cruz and Trump together, the conservatives and the populists, have a super majority, Greta. Together that’s winning, so put that together and get some of the Establishment voices in as well.”

When asked by Van Susteren why she thought the Establishment wouldn’t get in line with Trump or Cruz, she decided instead to give the GOP elite some sage advice. “What I would say to them is, let’s make the country better, let’s make this whole process better,” Ingraham said.

In an interview on Thursday morning on “Mornings with Maria” on Fox Business, Ingraham further discussed the need for the party to unite and join with blue-collar and middle-class people who are making their voices heard this election cycle.

“I think there is a very accurate detector at the heart of the American people of what is fair and what is not,” said Ingraham, regarding the possibility of a contested convention. “If we have a situation where Trump or Cruz is at an epic level of delegates just shy of the 1,237, but yet the entire Republican Party is focused on taking Trump or Cruz down, then what is the point of having a party?”

Fair point.
