Lawrence O’Donnell is not having a good week.

An astonishing clip reel of the MSNBC host having a complete meltdown on camera was leaked Wednesday night. The footage, recorded on August 29 for “The Last Word,” shows O’Donnell unleashing a bizarre, vulgar rant against staff.

O’Donnell’s breakdown is a profanity-laced ballet that slowly increases in intensity as he goes from exuding a quiet annoyance to a fist-shaking crescendo of fury. A confused-looking O’Donnell complains initially that “someone’s pressing buttons and turning my sounds off.”

After a few more moments of listening to yet more radio chatter, a visibly annoyed O’Donnell wishes to know “who’s asking for a Labor Day rundown” in his ear. “Someone in that control room is out of control,” he adds.

Despite O’Donnell’s protestations, the radio chatter clearly continues — and O’Donnell really starts to lose it. After staring into the camera and projecting the iciest of death-stares, the increasingly exasperated O’Donnell starts swearing. “F***in’. God-d*** it.” he says. Then, like a crazed conductor leading a symphony he raises his hands in the air and crashes his fists into the table. “There’s insanity in the control room,” he says shortly thereafter.

The video continues in a similar way until a hammering sound that can be heard faintly in the background of the audio becomes too much for O’Donnell to bear. “Stop the hammering!” O’Donnell screams. “Stop the hammering out there! Who’s got a hammer? Where is it? Where’s the hammer?”

“I’ll go down to the God-d***ed floor myself and stop it,” O’Donnell says. “Keep the God-d***ed commercial break going!” he continues. “Call f***ing [MSNBC President] PHIL GRIFFIN! I DON’T CARE WHO THE F*** YOU HAVE TO CALL! Stop the hammering. Empty out the God-d***ed control room and find out where this is going on!”

“A better anchorman and a better person would’ve had a better reaction to technical difficulties. I’m sorry,” O’Donnell tweeted after the video’s release.
