Conservative activist James O’Keefe’s Project Veritas released an undercover video late on Monday showing a CNN producer admitting the Trump-Russia collusion stories the network pushes are “mostly bull-s**t.”

“I mean, it’s mostly bulls**t right now. Like, we don’t have any big giant proof,” CNN supervising producer John Bonifield told an undercover Project Veritas journalist when asked his thoughts on the investigation into possible collusion between President Trump and the Russian government.

“Then they say, well, there’s still an investigation going on,” Bonifield continued. “I don’t know, if you were finding something, we would know about it. The way these leaks happen. They’d leak it. It’d leak. If it was something really good, it would leak. I just refuse to believe that if they had something really good like that, that wouldn’t leak because we’ve been getting all these other leaks.”

“I just feel like they don’t really have it, but they want to keep digging,” Bonifield admitted. “And so I think the president is probably right to say, like, ‘Look, you are witch-hunting me.’ Like, ‘You have no smoking gun, you have no real proof.'”

Bonifield was referring to Trump’s frequent claim that he is the victim of a political witch hunt.

“You are witnessing the single greatest WITCH HUNT in American political history — led by some very bad and conflicted people! #MAGA” Trump tweeted on June 15.

In addition to admitting that there was little to no evidence of the link between Trump to Russia, Bonifield also claimed the hysteria over “Russian interference” in the election was entirely hypocritical.

“Even if Russia was trying to swing the election, we try to swing their elections, our CIA is doing s**t all the time, we’re out there trying to manipulate governments,” Bonifield said. “You win because you know the game, and you play it right. [Hillary Clinton] didn’t play it right.”

The video’s release comes at the worst possible time for an embattled network suffering from a severe crisis of credibility. It was released the day after news broke that CNN had sent out an internal memo detailing strict new editorial rules in the wake of the publication of a fake-news story linking former Trump campaign adviser Anthony Scaramucci to a Russian government bank.

CNN retracted the story on Friday, and on Monday night it was reported that three CNN employees had tendered their resignations as a result of the incident.

“Wow, CNN had to retract big story on ‘Russia,’ with 3 employees forced to resign. What about all the other phony stories they do? FAKE NEWS!” Trump tweeted on Tuesday.

Bonifield made clear in the undercover video how intense the pressure from CNN executives is to deliver Russia stories that draw big ratings.

“He goes, ‘Just to give you some context, President Trump pulled out of the climate accords, and for a day and a half we covered the climate accords. And the CEO of CNN said in our internal meeting, he said, good job everybody covering the climate accords … but we’re done with that, let’s get back to Russia,'” said Bonifield.

“It’s a business,” said Bonifield. “All the nice cutesy little ethics that used to get talked about in journalism school, you’re just like, that’s adorable, that’s adorable. This is a business,” he said. “So they gotta do what they gotta do to make their money. I think that there are a lot of liberal CNN viewers who want to see Trump really get scrutinized.”
