Trump Touts New Poll: 46 Percent Approval!

President Donald Trump touted a new Rasmussen poll on Tuesday showing that his approval rating has risen to 46 percent, adding, “Some people think the numbers could be in the 50s.”

Trump’s presidential approval ratings have slumped over the past few weeks, dipping from the mid-40s down to the 30s. An ABC News/Washington Post poll from last week found Trump’s approval rating had plummeted to an all-time low, with only 37 percent of respondents saying they approved of his performance.

But as Trump prepared to return from his five-nation tour across Asia, he appeared pleased with the Rasmussen poll’s results.

“One of the most accurate polls last time around. But #FakeNews likes to say we’re in the 30s. They are wrong,” the president tweeted Tuesday. “Some people think numbers could be in the 50s. Together, WE will MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”

Trump also touted the results of his five-nation tour when he spoke to reporters Tuesday in Manila, Philippines, saying that he and his team exhibited strong leadership abroad and “had a tremendously successful trip.”

“Tremendous amounts of work was done on trade, not only on the deals — and we have at least $300 billion worth of deals, but that will be, I think, way triple that number in a fairly short period of time,” he said.

“We want fair trade for the United States, because with past administrations — as I said in China and I said very loud and very clear — the United States has been taken advantage of,” Trump added. “They’re very giving, and they don’t get in return.”

Noting that he and his team “worked hard” to build relationships with foreign leaders while promoting U.S. interests, the president predicted that “the fruits of our labor are going to be incredible.”

“Whether it’s security of our nations, whether it’s security of the world, or whether it’s trade. And it’s going to really amount to a lot,” Trump said.
