President Donald Trump renewed his spat with the “Morning Joe” co-hosts and threw other insults at the “fake news” media consumed by “Trump hate” in a series of tweets Saturday morning.

Trump caused an uproar Thursday morning when he responded to the incessant criticism from MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski on “Morning Joe.” Thursday’s news cycle quickly became engulfed by the president’s tweets saying, “I heard poorly rated @Morning_Joe speaks badly of me (don’t watch anymore). Then how come low I.Q. Crazy Mika, along with Psycho Joe, came … to Mar-a-Lago 3 nights in a row around New Year’s Eve, and insisted on joining me. She was bleeding badly from a face-lift. I said no!”

The president redoubled his attack Friday.

“Watched low rated @Morning_Joe for first time in long time. FAKE NEWS. He called me to stop a National Enquirer article. I said no! Bad show,” the president tweeted.

Trump continued the feud Saturday.

“Crazy Joe Scarborough and dumb as a rock Mika are not bad people, but their low rated show is dominated by their NBC bosses. Too bad!” he tweeted.

Prior to the “Morning Joe” tweet, the president took swipes at NBC and CNN for their largely negative coverage of him — coverage he has often panned as “fake news” from the biased and “dishonest media.” Trump began by commenting on NBC’s decision to part with its 6 p.m. host, Greta Van Susteren, who previously hosted “On the Record w/Greta Van Susteren” for nearly 15 years at Fox News. Van Susteren worked at NBC for roughly six months before the network abruptly announced her departure Thursday.

“Word is that @Greta Van Susteren was let go by her out of control bosses at @NBC & @Comcast because she refused to go along w/ ‘Trump hate!'” Trump tweeted.

The president then turned his attention to CNN — a network that recently was forced to retract a fraudulent story tying Trump adviser Anthony Scaramucci to a Russian investment fund. The story’s publication and the scandal surrounding its retraction led to the departure of three veteran reporters and editors.

“I am extremely pleased to see that @CNN has finally been exposed as #FakeNews and garbage journalism. It’s about time!” Trump tweeted.

Trump’s ongoing spat with the media will no doubt further drive press attention away from key Republican legislative priorities. GOP senators are frantically searching for consensus on health care before the weeklong July 4 recess and the monthlong August recess. In addition, the White House was pushing its “Energy Week” and supported two key pieces of immigration legislation, “Kate’s Law” and “No Sanctuary for Criminals Act,” which both passed the House this week.

During Thursday’s on-camera press briefing with White House deputy press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders, 12 of the reporters’ questions involved the tweet directed at the “Morning Joe” co-hosts, tweet while only nine referred to more substantive policy issues.

“Some White House advisers said they were frustrated that the Brzezinski feud — which continued to unfurl throughout the day Friday with accusations and counter-accusations — overtook the president’s fight with CNN, which seemed in their eyes to have clearer villains and heroes,” The Washington Post reported.

A study released Friday from the Media Research Center found that major television news networks dedicated 28 times more coverage Thursday night to Trump’s tweet about Brzezinski than they afforded to the passage of “Kate’s Law” in the House of Representatives.

“NO ONE cares about @MSNBC or their obsession with insulting @POTUS. Stop helping their ratings & jacking up their speaking fees,” tweeted LifeZette Editor-in-Chief Laura Ingraham on Friday.
