The middle class will get a huge tax cut and the military will undergo one of the largest buildups in history, said President Donald Trump on Friday.

Trump made the remarks as he mapped out his vision for the nation at the Conservative Political Action Conference — held at the Gaylord National Harbor Hotel in Oxon Hill, Maryland.

“I’m not representing the globe … I’m representing your country.”

He received a loud welcome from thousands of assembled grassroots supporters packed into the Potomac Ballroom. Attendees were eager to hear Trump map out his priorities now that he occupies the Oval Office.

Trump got the loudest cheers when he vowed to fight radical Islamic terrorism.

“We are going to keep radical Islamic terrorists the hell out of our country,” said Trump. “The security of our people is No. 1.”

Trump also reaffirmed his commitment to the “repeal and replacement” of Obamacare, or the Affordable Care Act, which is a key concern of many conservatives who see GOP lawmakers stalling and reports of an ACA “repair” instead of “repeal and replace.”

On another key pledge conservatives are anxious to see enacted, Trump promised tax cuts for businesses and the middle class.

Trump continued a recent theme of questioning what mass immigration and the acceptance of refugees are doing to Europe.

“I took a lot of heat on Sweden,” said Trump. “The people understand I’m right … Take a look at Nice and Paris. Paris is no longer Paris. We cannot let that happen to us.”

Trump told the CPAC audience, to cheers, that he is not interested in solving all of the world’s problems.

“I’m not representing the globe,” said Trump. “I’m representing your country.”

Trump said the CPAC address was important to him as CPAC was home to one of his first major political speeches, in 2011. The crowd often cheered and chanted as Trump spoke, and the president seemed to revel in the enthusiasm after weeks of critical stories in the mainstream media questioning the competence of the new administration.

Trump responded by promising his mix of tax cuts, trade policy, and military strength will pay off for them.

“America is coming back,” said Trump. “It’s going to be bigger and better and stronger than ever before.”
