President-Elect Donald Trump is spending Thanksgiving with his family at his exclusive Mar-a-Lago resort — an annual tradition for the Trumps, who left cold and hostile New York City for the warmer Floridian climate on Tuesday.

Of course, this year’s Thanksgiving festivities will be slightly different for Trump and his family, with him having just become president-elect. Trump will be spending the holiday with a bevy of Secret Service agents.

Given his new status, Mar-a-Lago has been transformed into a veritable fortress — though the exclusive and secluded nature of the resort makes such a transformation easy.

“Mar-a-Lago is a Secret Service agent’s dream to secure. It is everything you would want,” former Secret Service agent Dan Bongino told The Daily Mail. “You have limited access and a really exclusive enclave where people who don’t live down there will generally stick out pretty quickly.”

Mar-a-Lago’s wealthy members will have to face a barricade of bomb-sniffing dogs and metal detectors to get inside the club, while the Coast Guard has restricted boats from coming close to the resort during Trump’s stay. The Federal Aviation Administration has also forbidden all private planes from flying over Mar-a-Lago below 3,000 feet.

A little extra security never hurt anybody, however, and in a move sure to trigger Palm Beach liberals almost as much as Trump’s victory, the Secret Service has erected several sniper towers around the swanky resort and deployed a blockade of boats to protect it.

While Trump hasn’t said publicly what he is thankful for on this Thanksgiving, a pretty good guess would be the president-elect is thankful for his smart, talented children, his stunningly beautiful wife, the support of the American voter, and Hillary Clinton’s hubris.
