America must now “bind the wounds of division” and come together, President-Elect Donald Trump said as he spoke to supporters early Wednesday morning.

Speaking at the Hilton hotel in Manhattan, Trump reached out to his opponents and detractors to come together.

“We will seek common ground, not hostility,” said Trump.

“It’s time for us to come together as one united people,” said Trump, flanked by his family and his supporters.

Trump spoke after Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton conceded to Trump via phone.

At first, it didn’t seem like Trump would get to speak Wednesday morning. But after the Associated Press declared him the winner before 3 a.m., Clinton finally conceded.

Trump immediately asked for unity and for help from people who vociferously opposed him.

“I’m reaching out to you for your guidance and your help,” said Trump.

Trump noted he won because he campaigned on the forgotten people.

“The forgotten men and women o f our country will be forgotten no longer,” said Trump. “We’re going to rebuild our infrastructure, which will become second to none.”

Trump told a raucous and perhaps stunned audience that he would not accept anything less than the best for America.

But he also sought to reassure foreign leaders.

“We will seek common ground, not hostility,” said Trump.

To make that point, Trump thanked Clinton for her service as he started his remarks.
