The mainstream media is shamefully exploiting Donald Trump’s awkwardly worded yet seemingly innocuous comments about gun owners to drown out a torrent of negative news about Hillary Clinton.

With all pretense of journalistic or intellectual integrity thrown far out of the window, liberals inside and outside the media are framing a throwaway comment of Trump’s about the power of gun-owners as a political bloc into a legitimate threat against Clinton’s life.

“They show the Clinton Foundation, Clinton donors, and operatives worked with Hillary Clinton in potential violation of the law.”

“Trump Suggests Shooting Clinton, Her Supreme Court Picks, Or Both” claims The Huffington Post’s headline. “This is Donald Trump at his lowest yet: a man hinting at murder,” blared The Guardian.

Of course, Democratic politicians are seizing upon the opportunity with relish. Sen. Elizabeth Warren claimed “Donald Trump makes death threats because he’s a pathetic coward who can’t handle the fact that he’s losing to a girl,” despite the fact that he made no death threats and Clinton is a 68-year-old woman.

ABC, NBC and CBS focused on Trump’s comments but all but ignored a huge story that involved Clinton, who had the father of a terrorist seated behind her at a campaign rally. The Media Research Center found that the networks devoted 25 minutes, 35 seconds to Trump’s comment, and just 4 minute, 51 seconds to the Clinton story.

But while liberals are doing their utmost to ensure all eyes are on this Trump non-story, the following developments from the last 48 hours are being under-reported — if they are being reported on at all.

Newly released Clinton emails obtained through a Freedom of Information request by Judicial Watch revealed that the State Department warned Clinton in advance that people were interested in her emails.

The same batch of emails also reveal clear evidence of collusion between the State Department and the Clinton Foundation, and prove beyond a doubt that Huma Abedin lied under oath.

“No wonder Hillary Clinton and Huma Abedin hid emails from the American people, the courts and Congress,” Judicial Watch President Tom Filton said in a press release. “They show the Clinton Foundation, Clinton donors, and operatives worked with Hillary Clinton in potential violation of the law.”

Speaking of Clinton’s emails, The Hill reported Wednesday that “none of Hillary Clinton’s work-related emails discovered by the FBI after being deleted from her private server have been released.” The FBI claims only a federal judge can authorize their release, and it is highly unlike one would decide to do so before the election, if at all.

But new and damaging revelations concerning Clinton’s emails are not the only recent developments that threatens to damage her campaign prospects.

In an interview on Dutch television, WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange hinted that Seth Rich, a DNC staffer murdered in Washington, D.C. on July 8, might have been the source of the DNC email leak.

WikiLeaks is offering a $20,000 reward for information regarding Rich’s death on Tuesday, which only confirms that at the very least Assange and his organization believe Rich could have been the leak — if they do not already know with certainty.

But never mind proof of Clinton corruption and a possible DNC-authorized assassination, say liberals in the media — Donald Trump said something nasty! Of course, Trump didn’t actually say anything nasty whatsoever.

“If she gets to pick her judges, nothing you can do folks.” He then added: “Although the Second Amendment people — maybe there is, I don’t know.” At absolute worst, this comment was meant to convey that a Clinton presidency could be so damaging to the rule of law and the Constitution, the only recourse left to the people may be their right to revolution.

No thinking person sans a political agenda could interpret this as a call to assassinate Clinton. Luckily for the Clinton campaign, thinking persons without political agendas are a rare occurrence in the mainstream media.

“If the father of a terrorist who had recently killed nearly 50 Americans and expressed anti-gay sentiments showed up at a Republican rally, we’d have wall to wall coverage for days,” said Ryan Moy of CRC Public Relations.
