After having called for James Comey’s firing as recently as last week, Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) now suggests the dismissal of the FBI director by President Donald Trump is proof the White House is up to something nefarious.

The Democratic congresswoman — designated the “Most Corrupt Member of Congress” by the left-leaning Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington organization in 2005, 2006, 2009, 2011 and 2017 — gave a confused, rambling defense of her criticism of President Donald Trump’s firing of James Comey on Wednesday.

“To be clear, you believe it would have been better to keep in place an FBI director who you said had no credibility to oversee this investigation than to find someone who you think would be a better choice?” MSNBC host Peter Alexander asked Waters.

“No, but I believe the president thought that,” she replied.

“But you said he had no credibility!” Alexander shot back.

Eventually Alexander got to the heart of the matter — and to the heart of Waters’ hypocrisy.

“So if Hillary Clinton had won the White House, would you be recommending that she fire FBI director James Comey?” asked Alexander.

“If she had won the White House, I believe that given what he did to her and what he tried to do, she should have fired him, yes,” replied Waters.

“So she should have fired him, but he shouldn’t have fired him? That’s why I’m confused,” Alexander responded.
