Ivanka Trump said President Donald Trump “felt very vindicated” following former FBI Director James Comey’s Thursday testimony, during an interview Monday on Fox News’ “Fox & Friends.”

The first daughter pointed to the damage Comey did to the Left’s Russian-collusion narrative to slam any lingering talk of impeachment as mere distractions. While the president’s opposition continues to search for ways to sideline his agenda, Ivanka Trump said that her father is focused “on getting things done and getting big things done.”

“My father felt very vindicated in all the statements he’s been making and feels incredibly optimistic,” she said. “But you know, at the White House and throughout the administration, we were incredibly focused on the reason we all went to Washington and what we’re fighting for.”

Noting that last week was “infrastructure week” for the president, the first daughter emphasized that this week “is all about workforce development.”

“So last week — while it didn’t get the level of headlines, it will ultimately have a much more important impact — was infrastructure week, focusing on the commitment to rebuild this country, rebuild rural locations which have fallen into great disrepair,” Ivanka Trump said. “So there were a series of very important and big and far-reaching initiatives on infrastructure.”

“This coming week is about workforce development,” she added. “So with all the noise, with all the intensity of the media coverage and obviously what makes headlines, ultimately we’re really focused on why the American people elected Donald Trump as their president and implementing that plan.”

Insisting that the country needs “the full participation” of its workforce, the first daughter noted many Americans are working multiple part-time jobs with no benefits while struggling to make ends meet.

“It is an enormous problem in this country,” Ivanka Trump said. “So that’s another problem that we’re very much looking to address.”

Although the first daughter said she wasn’t expecting her father’s presidency and the administration’s job “to be easy,” she expressed her astonishment at the “viciousness” of the Left and the media.

“It is hard. And there is a level of viciousness that I was not expecting. I was not expecting the intensity of this experience,” Ivanka Trump said. “But this isn’t supposed to be easy. My father and this administration intends to be transformative and we want to do big, bold things and we’re looking to change the status quo. So I didn’t expect it to be easy.”

“I think some of the distractions and some of the ferocity was — I was a little blindsided by on a personal level,” she added. “But for me, I’m trying to keep my head down, not listen to the noise and just work really hard to make a positive impact on the lives of many people. I mean, at the end of the day, if you want to think about difficult, it’s the factory worker who’s been laid off. Difficult is, you know, the mother who’s lost a child to opioid abuse. So these are the real challenges, and I think that does put it in perspective for me.”

Despite the challenges her father faces in adjusting to Washington politics, Ivanka Trump promised the administration’s unwavering commitment to the president’s America First agenda.

“This is honestly what it’s all about. I mean, we moved down to Washington. We want to be helpful. We want to do big things, important things,” she said. “And there’s nothing more important than enabling people.”
