It’s been nearly a week since Donald Trump pulled off one of the most spectacular upsets in U.S. election history, and it is clear that the Democratic Party still doesn’t understand just why it was trounced.

Among other causes, the American people rejected the Democratic Party and the progressive Left’s continued use of racially divisive rhetoric in pursuit of political objectives.

Since the morning after the election, Ellison has tweeted two statuses accusing the GOP of racially motivated voter suppression, two statuses linking Trump with generic racism, three statuses linking his victory to the KKK, and two statuses linking his support to white nationalists in the Alt-Right.

But instead of recognizing this fact and taking steps to reverse its slow descent into an anti-white party, the Democrats are only doubling down on the poisonous radicalism which last week contributed to their loss of the White House and senate shut-out.

News emerged over the weekend that Minnesota Rep. Keith Ellison is a top contender to be the next leader of the Democratic National Committee, and is a favorite of Sen. Harry Reid, who issued an official statement endorsing Ellison for the top spot.

“My friend Keith Ellison is a terrific leader and a strong progressive who knows how to get things done,” Reid said. “Now is the time for new thinking and a fresh start at the DNC. Now is the time for Keith.”

Ellison is emblematic of the very old, stale thinking that just handed the GOP its biggest electoral victory since 1928. His selection would not only confirm the Democrats’ transformation into an explicitly radical, anti-white party, but also confirm the party’s inability to understand its own electoral demise.

Ellison is a Muslim convert. But it seems that Ellison, who was born a Roman Catholic and became a Muslim in his early 20s, was inspired to convert to Islam not by the beauty of the adhan or some major spiritual experience, but by the rhetoric of the Nation of Islam.

While Ellison was a grad student, he wrote two articles for the University of Minnesota newspaper under the pseudonym Keith Hakim that defended the Nation of Islam from criticisms of anti-Semitism and advocated for slavery reparations.

It comes as little surprise, then, that Ellison’s Twitter feed is a veritable barrage of racial grievance and posts linking Trump’s victory to rising racism among white people.

But if Ellison represents the Democratic Party’s very worst tendencies when it comes to racial demagoguery, he also represents its very worst tendencies to entertain embracing full-blown state socialism.

Ellison is currently the co-chair of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, a far Left organization within the House Democratic Caucus, and was the second congressman to endorse Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders’ bid for the Democratic nomination.

Among the policies endorsed by the CPC are a universal, socialist healthcare system, a high federal minimum wage, and the legal enshrinement of radical gender theory.

In addition to his recent Reid endorsement, Ellison also has the backing of Sanders as well as Sens. Elizabeth Warren and Chuck Schumer.

“The most important criteria for the DNC chair is going to be vision,” Ellison said on Sunday during an appearance on ABC News’s “This Week” when asked if he was up for the job. “It’s not about one person. It’s about millions of people all working together to protect and advance the interests of working Americans.”

In the age of Trump, a DNC chair with Ellison’s vision could see the Democratic Party radicalize itself into electoral oblivion.
