President Donald Trump’s re-election campaign committee accused CNN of censoring one of its ads for the second time since May, in a statement Tuesday.

Donald J. Trump for President Inc. released an ad Sunday called “Let President Trump Do His Job.” Although other cable news networks aired the spot, the campaign blasted CNN for “censoring President Trump’s message to the American people by blocking our paid campaign ad.”

“One of the many reasons that so many millions of Americans support President Trump is because of their complete mistrust of the mainstream news media, and the President’s refusal to allow their biased filter to interfere with his messages,” Michael S. Glassner, executive director of Donald J. Trump for President Inc., said in the statement.

“Today, CNN provided further proof that the network earns this mistrust every day by censoring President Trump’s message to the American people by blocking our paid campaign ad,” Glassner added. “Clearly, the only viewpoint CNN allows on air is CNN’s.”

The ad in question accuses “obstructing” Democrats, career politicians and the mainstream media of blocking Trump and misconstruing his political agenda.

“Democrats obstructing. The media attacking our president. Career politicians standing in the way of success. But President Trump’s plan is working,” the ad’s voiceover read. “One million jobs created. More Americans working than ever before. Unemployment lowest since 2001. The stock market: all-time record highs. The strongest military in decades.”

“The president’s enemies don’t want him to succeed, but Americans are saying, ‘Let President Trump do his job,'” the ad concluded.

Images of CNN anchors Anderson Cooper, Jake Tapper and Don Lemon were included in the ad, along with other mainstream media members who frequently criticize the president.

“The ad highlights President Trump’s many achievements despite the media ‘attacking our president’ and ‘career politicians standing in his way,'” Glassner said. “While CNN’s censorship is predictable, this will not stop or deny our message that ‘President Trump’s plan is working’ for the American people.”

But this wasn’t the first time that Trump’s campaign accused CNN of “censoring” one of its ads. On May 2, the campaign blasted CNN for refusing to air its “First 100 Days” spot celebrating the president’s first 100 days in office. The network’s communications department tweeted that CNN declined to run the ad because of how it portrayed the “fake news” media.

“CNN requested the advertiser remove the false graphic that says mainstream media is ‘fake news,'” the communications department tweeted. “The mainstream media is not fake news, and therefore the ad is false. Per our policy, it will be accepted only if that graphic is deleted. Those are the facts.”

The communications department has yet to tweet why the “Let President Trump Do His Job” ad has not yet run on its programs.

Throughout his campaign and his presidency, Trump railed against the “fake news media” and called out several outlets by name. CNN, The New York Times, The Washington Post, and other outlets earned his particular ire, both aloud and on Twitter. Trump’s hostile relationship with CNN has garnered national attention on numerous occasions.

In early July, Trump spurred a media firestorm when he tweeted a video depicting a mock WWE fight in which he was depicted body-slamming CNN, complete with the two hashtags #FraudNewsNetwork and #FNN. Many Democrats, pundits and journalists accused Trump of “inciting violence” against CNN and reporters with the tweet.

On Monday, Trump engaged in a brief spat with CNN reporter Jim Acosta after the president signed an executive order regarding China and its trade practices. At the conclusion of the ceremony and as Trump was leaving, Acosta shouted out a question asking the president why he didn’t specifically condemn white supremacist hate groups in his initial statement regarding the violent Charlottesville rally on Saturday.

When Acosta asked the president if the media could ask more questions, Trump replied, “It doesn’t bother me at all, but you know, I like real news, not fake news. You’re fake news.”

Trump tweeted Monday after the confrontation with Acosta, “Made additional remarks on Charlottesville and realize once again that the #Fake News Media will never be satisfied…truly bad people!”
