Congress denied President Donald Trump “justice” by passing an omnibus budget in March that combined only $1.6 billion for national security and border wall funding, according to the head of a firm competing for the structure’s construction contract.

“President Trump had it right — Congress did not do him justice by basically limiting the only thing they could spend is on a fence — not a wall,” Tommy Fisher said Monday on Fox News’ “The Ingraham Angle.” He is CEO of Fisher Sand & Gravel Co., one of four companies picked to build border wall prototypes.

“Imagine if [Secretary of Defense James] Mattis got in the military budget $700 billion, but there was a caveat on it that you could only build old military options. That doesn’t work,” Fisher told former Rep. Jason Chaffetz, substituting for vacationing host Laura Ingraham.

“[Our prototype] is a wall — not a see-through fence. It’s an actual wall. It’s 30 feet tall, 30 inches thick of concrete, and it will work,” Fisher said.

Fisher criticized lawmakers for withholding funds to build the wall along the U.S.-Mexico border. With Trump growing increasingly frustrated with lawmakers’ stonewalling and slow-walking his border wall construction, Fisher urged Congress to take action and prioritize the safety and security of U.S. citizens above all other political concerns.

Fisher noted that his company offered the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) a proposal to build 700 miles of border wall across California, New Mexico and Arizona in five years, including high-speed access roads for border patrol agents on both sides of the wall “that will actually work.”

“We’re here to … deliver border security for every single American, and we can prove it works,” Fisher said. “So when we build what we can build, literally those agents can travel six to 10 times as fast as they do because they have access. In the end, you have to build a barrier. And our barrier lasts 150 years. But then we’ve got to give access to these agents so they can protect every one of our lives.”

Trump took to Twitter Sunday and Monday to berate Congress for resisting border wall construction and failing to compromise on an immigration reform to provide amnesty to illegal immigrants brought to the U.S. as children, eliminate chain migration and abolish a visa lottery program.

“Border Patrol Agents are not allowed to properly do their job at the Border because of ridiculous liberal (Democrat) laws like Catch & Release. Getting more dangerous. ‘Caravans’ coming. Republicans must go to Nuclear Option to pass tough laws NOW. NO MORE [Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals] DEAL!” Trump tweeted Sunday.

“Honduras, Mexico and many other countries that the U.S. is very generous to, sends many of their people to our country through our WEAK IMMIGRATION POLICIES. Caravans are heading here. Must pass tough laws and build the WALL. Democrats allow open borders, drugs and crime!” Trump added Monday.

Trump referred to the “caravan” of an estimated 1,200 Central American illegal immigrants, organized by Pueblo Sin Fronteras, who are crossing Mexico to enter the U.S., as BuzzFeed first reported. Although Mexican officials initially did nothing to stop the illegal immigrants, BuzzFeed reported Monday that Mexican officials now plan to disband the caravan and allow the immigrants to apply for visas.

Also Monday, Hector Garza, vice president of the National Border Patrol Council, told Chaffetz that “what’s happening at the border is that catch and release is alive and well. And unfortunately, a lot of the Obama holdovers within our agency are still implementing those policies that were in effect under the Obama administration.”

Garza predicted that “unfortunately, if this caravan makes it to the southern border and they cross illegally into our country, they will be processed, but then they’ll be released on a notice to appear, which means that they’ll disappear into the American communities and they’ll never return to court.”

“This is nothing more but a rampant abuse of our immigration system,” Garza continued. “These people are coming to our border and making false asylum claims. Most of these claims do not stand up to the judicial overview, and they don’t qualify for asylum claims.”

Late Monday, Trump tweeted that “as ridiculous as it sounds, the laws of our country do not easily allow us to send those crossing our Southern Border back where they came from. A whole big wasted procedure must take place. Mexico & Canada have tough immigration laws, whereas ours are an Obama joke. ACT CONGRESS.”

Garza said that a border wall “would definitely help border patrol operations,” even though Democratic lawmakers and illegal immigrant advocates insist that a border wall is an unnecessary waste of money.
