Special counsel Robert Mueller’s team investigating the “rigged Russian Witch Hunt” may end up “MEDDLING” in the upcoming 2018 midterm elections if the probe is prolonged indefinitely, President Donald Trump tweeted Tuesday.

“The 13 Angry Democrats (plus people who worked 8 years for Obama) working on the rigged Russia Witch Hunt, will be MEDDLING with the mid-term elections, especially now that Republicans (stay tough!) are taking the lead in Polls,” Trump tweeted. “There was no Collusion, except by the Democrats!”

Trump’s “13 Angry Democrats” epithet refers to top Mueller team members who are registered Democrats and donated to Democratic candidates, including Hillary Clinton, the chief executive’s 2016 opponent.

Republicans including Trump have long decried the anti-Trump bias they saw among the FBI investigators and top current and former members of the Department of Justice (DOJ).

Trump’s legal team ramped up its criticisms of Mueller investigators and their prolonged probe after the special counsel passed his one-year anniversary for heading the probe on May 17.

The president’s team also increased its pressure on Mueller to end the probe prior to the midterm elections and took a more offensive approach to combating Russian collusion claims after former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani joined Trump’s legal team in April 2018.

“We’re trying to get [Mueller] to end this,” Giuliani said on Fox News’ “The Ingraham Angle” in mid-May. “This is not good for the American people, and the special counsel’s office doesn’t seem to have that, sort of, understanding that they’re interfering with things that are much bigger than them or us.”

“So it’s about time to get the darn thing over with,” Giuliani added. “It’s about time to say, ‘Enough, we’ve tortured this president enough.'”

Trump and his supporters last week also condemned what they labeled as Spygate, the FBI’s use of an informant who befriended three campaign officials and collected information. At Trump’s direction, the DOJ announced last week that Inspector General Michael Horowitz will investigate if the informant’s activities are evidence the Obama administration improperly infiltrated and surveilled his campaign to aid Clinton.

While criticizing the DOJ and FBI for conducting the “Rigged Witch Hunt” against himself and his campaign, Trump also rebuked them Tuesday for seeming to let Clinton off the hook. The FBI cleared Clinton during the 2016 presidential campaign after investigating her use of a private email server to conduct official business as secretary of state.

Clinton’s campaign and the Democratic National Committee (DNC) funded the anti-Trump dossier compiled by former British spy Christopher Steele. The FBI used it to seek and renew surveillance warrants against former Trump campaign official Carter Page — one of the three officials with whom the FBI’s informant interacted.

“Why aren’t the 13 Angry and heavily conflicted Democrats investigating the totally Crooked Campaign of totally Crooked Hillary Clinton. It’s a Rigged Witch Hunt, that’s why! Ask them if they enjoyed her after election celebration!” Trump tweeted.

The FBI’s conduct during its investigation into Clinton is one of the subjects of Horowitz’s review. The IG report is expected to be released this week.

Fox News contributor and former GOP congressman Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah) speculated Tuesday on Fox Business Network’s “Mornings with Maria” that the IG report will provide “the most illuminating moment to this point.”

“It is a nonpartisan report. It will get us the closest part to the truth,” Chaffetz said. “But we are literally a few days away from being able to see this report. And I think it’s going to show the highest echelons of the FBI acted improperly and out of the normal protocol in everything that dealt with Hillary Clinton and that probe.”

“Lady Justice did not take an even hand in looking at that,” Chaffetz said. “That’s what I’m guessing is going to come out of this, and it will be somewhat devastating for the Department of Justice.”

At the end of the day, Democratic lawmakers like Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), the ranking Democrat on the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, will have a lot of walking back to do regarding their collusion claims, Chaffetz predicted.

“When you talk to a Democrat and you ask him for what is their very best evidence that there was this supposed collusion, they don’t come up with anything,” said Chaffetz, the former chairman of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform.

“That’s why the markets and I think most of the country looks at this and says, ‘Adam Schiff, you promised an awful lot and delivered nothing, because there’s a big ‘nothing-burger’ here,'” Chaffetz continued.

But with foreign and domestic key issues facing Trump and the nation, Trump noted that it is imperative that he “start focusing” his energy on those issues — even if Mueller’s probe drags on for months.

“Sorry, I’ve got to start focusing my energy on North Korea Nuclear, bad Trade Deals, VA Choice, the Economy, rebuilding the Military, and so much more, and not on the Rigged Russia Witch Hunt that should be investigating Clinton/Russia/FBI/Justice/Obama/Comey/Lynch etc.,” the president tweeted.
