Giving in to increasing pressure to recognize transgender tendencies in young children can be extremely damaging, explained Dr. Meg Meeker on “The Laura Ingraham Show.”

Dr. Meeker, author of “Strong Mothers, Strong Sons: Lessons Mothers Need to Raise Extraordinary Men,” told Ingraham that if parents take their children to gender-reassignment clinics, “God have mercy on them,” because of the damage they can do.

“Most good physicians would never entertain doing this,” Dr. Meeker said.

“Most good physicians would never entertain doing this,” she said.

Meeker said it is a logical extension of the popular culture’s insistence on accepting transgender adults.

“Now we’re sort of dumping it on our children,” she said. “I think that children have always been confused about a great many things,” and “it is normal for children to have questions about their sexuality,” Meeker continued.

On the topic of whether there is money to be made on the transgender craze Meeker said, “It’s about money, but it’s also about politics, too. It’s not normal. It’s confusion.… You don’t need to be a psychiatrist to know there’s a level of craziness happening here.” “Once you get to the point where there isn’t truth about anything … you’re going to bring 8-year-olds in,” she said.

Meeker offered advice to parents: “I think parents need to push back and say, ‘No, we won’t.’”
