I was enjoying a balmy day in Arizona on my balcony while crocheting to an audio book when I heard a snippet of news on Fox Business Network with Lou Dobbs that made me gasp.

Jeff Bezos on behalf of Amazon — the largest and most powerful global corporate retailer — announced his stand against our president’s lawful vetting of immigrants from countries known for terrorism and other illegal acts.

What would it be like for Amazon if supporters of President Trump purchased their Valentine’s Day gifts anywhere-other-than-Amazon.com?

The linchpin of Bezos’ position was to enable Amazon, along with other global corporate entities like Starbucks, to continue profiting from cheap immigrant labor no matter the resultant risk of harm to countless American citizens — the people who elected President Trump and endorsed his policy against open borders. Not to omit the fact that Amazon previously was on record as promising to hire 100,000 new American workers. Little did we know what Amazon’s true agenda was, insofar as the bottom line.

Nonetheless, Bezos may have a problem, as he has never having been duly elected to any office on behalf of anything other than his own interest. There are moms like me who may be appalled at his announcement.

As a working mom and wife, I have spent tens of thousands of dollars purchasing products at Amazon.com for the sake of convenience and its range of products. But no more. I refuse to spend a dollar as of this writing for one simple reason: We the People elected President Trump to make America great again — but to us, this was not a mere campaign slogan. For no country can be great if its people are under siege from criminals and terrorists coming across open borders and enabled by a powerful few to violate our laws and the will of the American people.

In addition, actions that undermine the ability of our commander-in-chief to serve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States, including its related war power acts, will have consequences that Amazon and others global corporate entities may not find to their liking.

Indeed, what global corporatist would actually like a movement in America with Moms United for President Donald J. Trump on this issue? It would not be “good business.”

For we mothers and grandmothers of all ages do much of the budgeting and shopping for our families, friends, and circles. In this way, we have tremendous power to spend our money, or not, regarding Amazon or any other entity which seeks to abridge the laws of our great country along with the courageous immigration policy of our president.

For example, soon it will be Valentine’s Day. It’s a day millions of Americans, including moms, dads, kids, extended family members, prospective brides, grooms, and singles — will purchase products to express their love and support for one another. What would it be like for Amazon if supporters of President Trump purchased their Valentine’s Day gifts anywhere-other-than-Amazon.com?

So the first act of Moms United For President Donald J. Trump could be boycotting Amazon for Valentine’s Day. And the word, boycott, coincidentally derives from a historical event marking the greed and injustice of one man that redounded against the interests of his own country.

In 1880, one man took unfair advantage of a large group of people who worked for him and the British government. Captain Charles Boycott was an English land agent for a large British estate in Ireland. He engaged in a policy that punished Irish workers and tenants regarding both rent and evictions. As a group, and assisted by local community activists in Ireland, the issue became a cause célèbre in both Ireland and Britain. But in the end, while Captain Boycott left the British estate for another, this landlord-tenant conflict cost Britain thousands of pounds in lost crops that the Irish workers refused to harvest.

Let’s face it. Americans are can-do folks and will pull together for the common good rather than fight one another to their detriment. I, for one, don’t relish the prospect of damaging the business interests of any individual, group, or entity. But we are talking about life and death here. And in the context of a country at war with our military, border patrol, and law enforcement in harm’s way — it’s time to put up or shut up.

We are either going to give President Donald J. Trump a chance to fulfill the duties of his office, which he is endeavoring to do — or everyone will suffer at the hands of a few powerful globalists.

The only question is whether a movement like this can gain any momentum at all given that I am a nobody mom tucked away in a small town, where I live with my husband and son. Still, if I am the only mom canceling my Amazon Prime membership along with any further purchasing at Amazon.com — that’s OK.

For tonight when I say my prayers, I will do so with a clear head and … a pure heart.
