Like flies buzzing around a picnic, protesters will be buzzing around the Trump inaugural festivities. Remind the kids to focus on the coming changes in government that will positively impact their generation — and ignore the chest-thumping and grandstanding the glitterati and progressive groups plan for this special week.

Filmmaker Michael Moore announced this weekend he will hold a “massive rally” Thursday outside Trump’s New York City International Hotel along with two famously liberal actors, Alec Baldwin and Mark Ruffalo.

Let’s teach our daughters to defend the unborn, the vulnerable, the family.

The three slammed Trump all during the campaign cycle and have continued to since Nov. 8. Moore has repeatedly called for massive organization surrounding Trump’s inauguration this Friday.

“If your rep is a Democrat, tell him/her you expect them to AGGRESSIVELY fight the Trump agenda — and if they don’t, you will work with others to support a true progressive in the Democratic primary in 2018,” Moore posted to Facebook following Trump’s win over Clinton.

In today’s culture, celebrities have a strong voice, especially for pre-teens, teens, and young adults. The next generation must learn a hashtag doesn’t promote change, and a celebrity is often little more than a progressive mouthpiece, uncomprehending of the complexities of serious issues today. Peaceful protest is protected by law and should be used when true injustice prevails — not as a temper tantrum before any offense has even happened.

“I think they should give Trump a chance — protest if he does something wrong,” said one Boston-area high school senior. “Isn’t it a little silly to preemptively protest? It’s disrespectful.”

His friend, a junior, echoed those thoughts and added, “They aren’t really protesting. They are whining because he’s the president, period. But who elected him? Americans who are sick of where liberal policies have gotten us. So they are really protesting fellow Americans — they’re just too afraid to say it.”

Moore also suggested voters form their “own rapid response team” to quickly react to Trump and the GOP-led Congress.

On inauguration night, there will be three official inaugural galas — the Liberty and Freedom balls at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, and the Salute to Our Armed Services ball, which reportedly will include first responders. So this is the perfect time to explain to kids the importance of honoring and supporting first responders and the military, and that honor and freedom are priceless American ideals. It’s a good time to talk about all the military has done for all citizens — and continues to do, today.

On Saturday, Donald Trump will attend a prayer breakfast at the Washington National Cathedral, just as a planned “Women’s March on Washington” begins, headed up by such Hollywood “elite” such as Amy Schumer and Olivia Wilde.

Hundreds of thousands of men and women will be walking through Washington, D.C., to demand the rights of all citizens be protected in the new administration. Actresses and singers who had no trouble with Hillary Clinton’s multiple federal investigations and past lies and scandals have been quick to pre-judge the Trump presidency; they’re at the forefront of this showboating exercise.

“In the spirit of democracy and honoring the champions of human rights, dignity, and justice who have come before us, we join in diversity to show our presence in numbers too great to ignore,” said the group in a release. “The Women’s March on Washington will send a bold message to our new government on their first day in office, and to the world that women’s rights are human rights. We stand together, recognizing that defending the most marginalized among us is defending all of us.”

Let’s teach our daughters to defend the unborn, the vulnerable, the family. It is hard for this generation to ignore celebrity — they’ve been raised on it, most of them — but to truly be strong and empowered, they need to stand on what is right, not popular with the entitled few who live behind gates.

Teach children this week what will be said at Donald Trump’s swearing-in; these are powerful words.

Explain this era of change to your children, so they can be part of it. .

“I do solemnly swear [or affirm] that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God.”

A child who is taught this will be empowered to talk with friends and classmates, even liberal teachers, about why the inauguration is to be respected and cherished — not interrupted by those who want to feel good about themselves and impress their Hollywood pals.

An era of change is approaching. Explain why to your children — so that they can be part of that change.
