President Trump has been blamed for many things since winning the highest office in the land — but now, even a busted marriage is being laid at his doorstep.

Gayle McCormick, a retiree in Washington State, revealed this week she left her husband of 22 years because he voted for Donald Trump — something she saw as a “deal breaker.”

Her husband mentioned over a casual lunch with friends that he planned to vote for the Republican nominee, she explained — and that was it.

The once-happy couple are no more.

“It totally undid me that he could vote for Trump,” McCormick, 73, a retired California prison guard who refers to herself as a “Democrat leaning toward socialist,” told Reuters. “It opened up areas between us I had not faced before.”

Politics and commitment apparently make strange bedfellows, as it dawned on this wife that after over two decades, she’d had enough. “I realized how far I had gone in my life to accept things I would have never accepted when I was younger,” she said.

McCormick joins liberal politicians and celebrities who are currently losing their sanity over Trump’s ascension to the White House.

McCormick isn’t alone — a recent Reuters/Ipsos poll of 6,426 people found that 16 percent had stopped talking to a family member or a friend over the election results. Thirty percent said they had ended a relationship entirely.

“This is so sad for the husband,” said a wife, mother, and grandmother from the Baltimore, Maryland, area of the septuagenarian split. “People are getting too crazy over this election — power swings naturally back and forth between Democrats and Republicans. To blindside your husband because a candidate you don’t like wins?” she continued. “I think he may be better off in the long run without her. I’ve been married over 50 years and my husband and I haven’t always voted the same — it would take wild horses to separate me from him.”

McCormick, who now lives alone in Bellingham, said she knew her husband was right-leaning, but she still felt “betrayed.”

A man listed in public records as McCormick’s husband wouldn’t discuss the divorce, and said he wasn’t aware an article had been published about it.

“Well, I’ll be damned,” the man said when reached by the New York Daily News.
