As every mom and dad on the planet knows, you cannot rush a toddler if he doesn’t want to be rushed.
One three-year-old from Walnut, California, hilariously proved just that when he was encouraged during a baseball game to “run home as fast as you can.”
Little Lennox, or “Len,” was told to run from third base to home plate during his baseball game, Sabrina Salcedo, the tyke’s mom, shared in an April 29 Facebook post that has now gone viral.
The three-year-old reportedly gave a thumbs-up in response, but then proceeded to amble toward home plate in an exaggerated, determined, and “slow-motion” style.
A crowd of people watching the game started to laugh as Lennox slowly moved toward the plate.
One person yelled encouragement: “You’re almost there!”

At one point, a man stepped forward and encouraged the child to run a bit faster, but the boy pushed the man aside and continued on his very deliberate odyssey toward home plate, on his own terms.
The child’s cousin, Tabby Rodriguez, posted the video of the third base-to-home journey on Twitter.
As of Tuesday afternoon, the clip had more than 404,000 likes and 139,000 retweets.
As one Facebook user said about the boy’s final surprising move, “[That] is the cherry on top! ‘Heroes get remembered but legends never die.'” Definitely check out the video!
