You won’t read this story — about two pageant winners, both moms, who back Donald Trump — in the mainstream media. Instead, the liberal media will continue to rant about the allegations of a now-compromised former Miss Universe, Alicia Machado, who violated her pageant contract by gaining over 40 pounds after winning the crown 20 years ago. She’s admitted she had an eating disorder before the pageant. Other allegations have further compromised her character.
Hillary Clinton found this woman and tried to use her against Trump, who in his former life owned the pageant organization and held the winner to the contract she signed. The cheap attempt by the Clinton campaign is making empty noise.

The Machado story is not on the minds of most Americans. It’s not what they think about when they go to bed at night. They care about jobs, national security, defense, tougher border security that protects America, and fixing this country for them, their children, their grandchildren. They don’t care, really, if Trump tweets at 3 a.m. about a former Miss Universe (although he should stay presidential, prudent and on message, and avoid those tweets).
Two former beauty pageant winners spoke on “Hannity” on Fox News Friday night to share a side of Donald Trump that is a testament to the good and decent man he is, something the liberal media doesn’t want people to know about, and something Trump himself plays down — because that’s who he is.
Melissa Young, Miss Wisconsin 2005, who competed in the Miss USA pageant in 2005: ‘Trump Gave Me the Best Gift You Can Give a Mother’
Young, who has an eight-year-old son, is dying. She is battling autonomic failure, which leads to the shutdown of the nervous system. Doctors have said her heart resembles that of a 90-year-old.
She is fighting for every last day of life; just two days ago, she had a blood clot removed from her chest.
“We are going to be watching your boy,” Trump assured Melissa Young, who is dying of heart failure.
She endorsed Trump for president in April. “He saved me in so many ways and changed my world … When I leave this world, I won’t be here to watch my son grow, but I’ll know that he will grow up in a country that is safe,” she said back then.
She became ill years after her pageant experience and said Trump frequently came to her aid. On Friday night, she said on “Hannity” on Fox News: “I am fighting for each and every day … [After] a priest had come and read me my last rites [in the hospital], that day an envelope was delivered to my room. It was a handwritten note from Mr. Trump, that said, ‘To the bravest woman I know.’ He wanted me to keep fighting. And in that moment … it sparked something in me. He really sparked such a wonderful [fighting attitude].”
Young said there is no cure for her condition — the result of a doctor’s negligence during her pregnancy, she says. “Until my last breath, I will use this voice to speak up about who Mr. Trump really is,” she said on “Hannity.” “It’s so important this side of the story is told. He’s the most wonderful man I have ever met.” Young won Miss Congeniality in the 2005 contest. She told Trump in a surprise earlier meeting with him, at an event in March, that her son, Jack, “is a Mexican-American and because of you I can send him to college.”
“We are going to be watching your boy,” Trump assured her.
Trump made his way through the crowd to greet her after her surprise appearance. “To give me that hug and promise that Jack would be OK, and to make sure of it, it is the best gift you can give a mother,” Young said afterward. Where is the liberal media on this story?
Carrie Prejean Bowler, Miss California USA (2009), who was first runner up, Miss USA 2009: ‘I Am So Tired of the Attacks Against Him’
For the better part of a year the mainstream media tried to discredit Bowler (who was then Carrie Prejean — her marriage to Kyle Boller came later, and today the couple has two children). The liberal media twisted her honest, straightforward response to a pageant question about same-sex marriage and tried to dig up every bit of dirt they could find.
What was her crime, exactly, in 2009? She was asked by liberal pageant judge Perez Hilton, celebrity and gossip reporter: “Vermont recently became the fourth state to legalize same-sex marriage. Do you think every state should follow suit? Why or why not?”
Raised as an evangelical Christian, Bowler responded straightforwardly: “In my country, in my family, I think that I believe that a marriage should be between a man and a woman. No offense to anybody there, but that’s how I was raised and that’s how I think it should be, between a man and a woman.”

She was both booed and applauded at the pageant, but her troubles had only begun. Hilton attacked her, calling her a “dumb b****.” He later apologized but told ABC News, “I applaud her for her honesty. However, she is not a politician. She’s a hopeful Miss USA. Miss USA should represent everyone. Her answer alienated millions of gay and lesbian Americans, their families and their supporters.”
He also said on ABC News, “She lost [the crown] because of that question.”
As the attacks on Bowler kept coming from the liberal press, Trump — who owned part of the Miss Universe organization at that time — backed her and said, “That was simply her belief.” He said, “She gave an honorable answer. She gave an answer from her heart.”
A father of four and veteran from New York told LifeZette this weekend, “The liberal media believes free speech is available only to them. If you share a contrasting point of view, they attack it. As a veteran, I thought I had fought for free speech for all. This case and many others show that liberals always twist things to their own agenda.”

Bowler said on “Hannity” in 2009 she was “glad I stayed true to myself. It was not about being politically correct. For me, it was about being biblically correct … [Winning] wasn’t what God wanted for my life that night [at the pageant]. I was true to myself and I know that I can go out and speak to young people about standing up for what you believe in and never compromising anything for anyone or anything, even if it’s the crown of Miss USA.”
The pageant organization ultimately stripped her of the crown in June that year — claiming she had violated her contract after gossip blogs turned up racy images, which she said were done as part of her modeling career. She filed suit, as did the pageant; ultimately the parties settled.
Friday night on “Hannity,” Bowler said, “Donald Trump was one of the only people that stood up for me and defended me. And I am so tired of the nonsense and the attacks against him. They are so desperate, Sean, they are going to go at all lengths to try to destroy this man. This is a smear campaign to try to distract from the real issues.”

Bowler said this: “Let’s not forget [Hillary] spent over $100,000 bullying these women who didn’t deserve it. So if she’s such an advocate of women and their rights, why was she tearing these women down? She should’ve been building them up and believing their story, like she says we all should.”
