Tim Tebow brings his devotion to faith wherever he goes — and today that’s the baseball field.

It was announced this week that the football-turned-baseball star will be starting in his first Major League Baseball spring training game against the Boston Red Sox on Wednesday. He’ll be the designated hitter, batting eighth in the lineup.

The game is this afternoon, in Port St. Lucie, Florida.

Tebow will face the current Cy Young Award winner, the Boston Red Sox’s Rick Porcello.

“I’m curious to see what happens,” Mets outfielder Michael Conforto told The New York Post. “From what I’ve heard from everybody, he works really hard. I’m excited to have him come out here and meet the guy. He’s had quite the journey.”

Apparently, Tebow’s Christian attitude is evident in the locker room as well.

“He gets a lot of attention put on him, but you wouldn’t know it in the locker room,” a fellow minor league player, L.J. Mazzilli, told The Post. “He tries to blend in. He’s like one of the guys. It’s only when the media follow him that you notice a difference.”

“He’s got a great attitude about life,’’ Mazzilli continued. “He’s accomplished a lot and keeps things in perspective.”
