Let’s get something straight quickly, as the March for Our Lives events all across the country on Saturday, March 24, 2018, continue to spur discussion and debate: It’s not the federal government’s job to create freedom, but rather to get out of the way and let freedom happen.
Freedom comes from God, not the government.
More and more, the federal government appears to be replacing God — and so many people seem to love it.
We’ve kicked God out of schools, off football fields, out of bakeries and nearly every aspect of life, while replacing Him with more and more, and bigger and bigger, government.
Americans should be up in arms and on our knees over the vilification of God. Instead, this past Saturday, thousands marched in Washington and in cities around our nation, insisting that the government, not God, should save us.
Our nation is sick, and we don’t even realize it.
On the one hand, we should be glad that students and others are concerned about violence with guns. Clearly, we can and must do much better when it comes to background checks, mental health checks, and enforcing our existing laws. On the other hand, it should concern us that an underlying objective of the March for Our Lives event was to advance the far Left’s agenda to disarm every American who isn’t part of the federal government or local law enforcement.
Not good.
The purity of Saturday’s march has been undermined. The movement is no longer organic (it likely wasn’t from the start). Many people don’t realize that former president Barack Obama’s Organizing for Action (OFA) was involved in the planning, publicizing and organizing of Saturday’s march — and on the website, you’ll see in big, bright letters, “Commit to vote.”
(Vote for what, you may ask? Or, rather, vote against what? Well, what do you think?)
The march and the forces behind it on a collision course with our Constitution and the essence of freedom itself.
Obama is a master wordsmith. Branding oneself as a “champion for gun safety” was (and is) a masterful way to achieve the objective of making sure America becomes a completely socialistic society where the government controls nearly every aspect of life.
Gun control is central to achieving that objective. If the only ones left with the firepower in our nation are the federal government and local law enforcement, the common person will have no means of protecting himself or herself. The government will be able to compel people to do whatever it wants without firing a single shot. It’s the exact scenario the Founding Fathers had in mind when they adopted the Second Amendment.

Obama’s OFA website states: “On average, more than 30,000 Americans die each year in gun-related deaths. Though many gun owners use their guns legally and responsibly, we have to do better to protect our children and communities.” Yet OFA does nothing to stop the more than 700,000 lives that are murdered each year — courtesy of taxpayer dollars — through legalized abortion.
And, in truth, millions upon millions of Americans own guns legally, use them responsibly, and never once think of using a firearm against an innocent civilian. They have firearms to protect themselves, just as the Founding Fathers envisioned the need.
Obama and the OFA are silent about the more than 95 percent of all foreign nationals who broke the law, endangered lives, and are in federal prisons as a result (at taxpayer expense). And they are here illegally. Mention border safety, and they will immediately cast you as a bigot, a nationalist, and a hater. So much for the “common sense” that Obama touts through the OFA.
It’s not about common sense at all. It’s about nonsense cleverly disguised to achieve a socialist agenda in which the government runs nearly every aspect of civilian life.

The far Left epitomizes the biggest double standard in the history of humanity. They want us to believe they care about lives by talking about gun control — when what they really want is to control our lives. A revolution is already underway in our nation, an attempt to further change America — but are you silent, sitting down when you should be standing up and speaking out?
The First Amendment was first on purpose, and the Second Amendment is there to protect it.
When adopting the Second Amendment, the Founding Fathers were not concerned about hunting rights. They were concerned about the prospects of a federal government gone bad. They wanted to protect their right — and the right of future generations — to defend themselves in the event the government got too powerful, too prideful, and began trampling on our God-given freedoms of speech, religion, and assembly. The First Amendment was first on purpose, and the Second Amendment is there to protect it.
Freedom is becoming a thing of the past in America. All of us, students or otherwise, better pay close attention to what’s happening right now. More than that, we need to stop sitting on our hands while the far Left marches.
