Celebrities Kevin and Sam Sorbo may be working in today’s increasingly left-leaning Hollywood, but they are as open as they can be about their faith.

The couple joined together as filmmakers to create the 2017 hit film “Let There Be Light,” a faith-based picture about redemption produced by Sean Hannity.

Now they’re spreading the light in a very different way, as they are planning a trip to Israel this summer. And they want others to join.

The two said in a joint statement to LifeZette about the trip:

We both have longed to travel to Israel, but kept putting it off because we wanted the kids to get something out of it as well [the couple have three children]. Then we connected with a group that manages trips all the time, and looked at what they were proposing, and it just felt right, you know? “Walking in the footsteps of Jesus” just seemed like exactly the trip we wanted to do — the experience we were envisioning, the Garden of Gethsemane, and the Via Dolorosa, where this amazing true story took place. We are so excited to be able to go, and to be able to share this with other people on this trip, including our kids.

According to the trip’s official website, the events will celebrate the state of Israel’s 70th birthday and allow folks to “follow the footsteps of Jesus.”

It’s sure to be a powerful experience for any who attend, as events listed include a Sabbath service on the Western Wall and visiting the location where Jesus was baptized.

“I’m the social butterfly of the family, so I personally am looking forward to conversing with others during our travels, discussing the lectures,” Sam Sorbo told LifeZette. “It’ll be a vacation, but a learning vacation, and we will all return home enriched!”

Her husband is equally excited. “I’m the videographer and photographer of the family, so I’m looking forward to piecing together a short film or documentary of the trip,” he said.

Follow the Light in the Footsteps of Jesus will occur July 16-28 this year; here’s more information on the trip.
