A devout Roman Catholic and a longtime employee of Macy’s, Javier Chavez, was fired recently over an issue that arose when a transgender person used the woman’s restroom, according to Fox News.

Chavez, a senior store detective, was alerted by a female and her daughter who became hesitant to use the restroom because a transgender person was using the facility. When Chavez looked into the situation and asked the person to exit the facility, the person refused and complained to management, Fox reported.

“After my employer learned I was a practicing Catholic, with religious concerns about this policy, I was terminated because of my religion.”

“He later exited the bathroom holding hands with his female companion and he declared he ‘was a female,’ which was not true,” Mr. Chavez wrote in the complaint.

Chavez never said he would not enforce the policy — but he was still let go from Macy’s, according to Fox. And when the store manager challenged Chavez on the situation, he told her he acted according to his conscience:

“I advised her that this was against my religion and contrary to the Bible,” Chavez wrote. “I also mentioned that I would not like my young daughters to be in the bathroom with a male [who was present at the same time].”

This is not the first time transgender issues have been in conflict with Christian faith, and unfortunately, it seems this will not be the last time a person is punished for his or her Christian faith.

“After my employer learned I was a practicing Catholic, with religious concerns about this policy, I was terminated because of my religion,” wrote Chavez.

Another striking example of this kind of discrimination came in the firing of Atlanta fire chief Kelvin Cochran in January 2015, according to Fox News.

Cochran published a religious book, “Who Told You That You Were Naked?” which focuses on Biblical morality. A section in the book condemned homosexuality and Cochran was fired for intolerance and discrimination.

“The LGBT members of our community have a right to be able to express their views and convictions about sexuality and deserve to be respected for their position without hate or discrimination,” Cochran told Fox News. “But Christians also have a right to express our belief regarding our faith and be respected for our position without hate and without discrimination. In the United States, no one should be vilified, hated, or discriminated against for expressing their beliefs.”

However, it clearly seems to be happening.

“Political correctness has now transcended into innocent school workers being fired.”

Two Christian daycare workers were fired for not going along with the organization’s transgender agenda and refusing to call a six-year-old girl a boy, according to Breitbart.

The two workers were told to treat the young girl as a boy after her two male parents instructed them to do so. The daycare workers sought out legal justice for being fired and hired attorney Andy Taylor as one of their lawyers.

“Political correctness has now transcended into innocent school workers being fired. Educators around the country will be required to choose between their religious faith and steadfast commitment to their students,” Taylor told Breitbart Texas.

It is apparent the choice to adhere to Christian beliefs is getting more difficult in the changing climate of the United States. It has leached into many companies and departments — and is quickly reaching new heights.
