CNN’s senior data reporter, Harry Enten, recently sounded the alarm on the tightening race between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump in Pennsylvania, a state critical for securing the electoral college, as reported by Daily Caller.

While Harris previously held a narrow lead, the gap has vanished, signaling a deadlock in the Keystone State. According to the RealClearPolling average, Pennsylvania is now too close to call, making it a significant battleground in the upcoming election.

During an appearance on CNN News Central, Enten emphasized the importance of Pennsylvania in determining who will win the electoral college come November.

He told host John Berman, “So I just want to take a look at Pennsylvania, Pennsylvania, Pennsylvania.” Enten went on to explain that what we now see is a tightening race stating that a month ago, Harris led by slim margins in several polls.

Enten cited specific surveys from the New York Times, Quinnipiac, and Franklin & Marshall, which showed Harris ahead by a mere 3 to 4 points. However, in recent days, new polls have shown a complete reversal. CBS News and CNN now report a tie, with the race deadlocked.

“This, to me, is part of an emerging pattern,” Enten continued. “What we saw was a small Harris lead within the margin of error. Now, we have a race that’s far too close to call.”

Berman pressed him further, asking just how critical Pennsylvania could be in the broader election picture. Enten explained, “Kamala Harris wins the electoral college when she wins the commonwealth of Pennsylvania, with exactly 270 electoral votes to Donald Trump’s 268.” He added, “But let’s take Pennsylvania out of Kamala Harris’ column and put ’em into Donald Trump’s. What happens when we turn Pennsylvania red? Donald Trump wins the Electoral College, 287 electoral votes to Kamala Harris’ 251. The bottom line is it is so important. This state is very, very important.”

Pennsylvania is undoubtedly pivotal, and the numbers are trending in Trump’s favor, particularly among white, non-college-educated voters.

CNN’s late August polling found Trump ahead of Harris by a whopping 32 points among this key demographic. CNN political director David Chalian echoed Enten’s sentiments, calling the numbers a “trouble sign for Harris.”

Nationally, the race remains razor-thin as well. A New York Times/Siena College poll conducted in early September showed Trump leading Harris 48% to 47%.

Enten issued a stark warning, noting that if Trump outperforms his current polling by just one point, he could easily secure the White House.

With Pennsylvania up for grabs, the battle between Harris and Trump is intensifying, and the outcome in this swing state could very well determine the future direction of the country.
