Elon Musk, the billionaire entrepreneur and owner of X (formerly Twitter), took aim at Vice President Kamala Harris for a past comment where she claimed illegal immigrants aren’t criminals, as reported by Fox News.
Musk shared a post from April 2017, where Harris stated, “An undocumented immigrant is not a criminal.” Musk didn’t hold back, adding, “Please note that this is an actual statement from Kamala.” His response underscores the ongoing debate about illegal immigration, a hot-button issue that continues to haunt Harris and the Biden administration.

Harris’ track record on immigration, particularly her role as Biden’s so-called border czar, has been a point of contention.
The southern border remains a chaotic flashpoint, with the administration struggling to find a cohesive strategy. Liberal media outlets have even attempted to downplay Harris’ involvement, but the facts speak for themselves.
The Vice President’s stance on immigration has been inconsistent, with critics accusing her of flip-flopping to appear more moderate.
Musk went further, alleging that the Democrats have a vested interest in maintaining lax immigration policies. “The US Democratic Party as a whole has a massive incentive to bring in and legalize illegal immigrants, as they vote overwhelmingly Democrat,” Musk argued. He added, “No grand conspiracy theory is needed. The simple incentive of winning elections explains why they won’t even deport criminals who assault police officers on camera, because that would mean losing those votes.”

These comments are particularly damning given Harris’ previous campaign rhetoric. In August, remarks from her 2019 campaign website surfaced, revealing links to a study that promoted the electoral benefits of not deporting certain illegal immigrants.
The study suggested that such policies “could provide sizable contributions to the margin of victory in swing states.”
In response to mounting criticism, Harris’ campaign has shifted its tone on immigration. Recent ads portray her as tough on the border, using images of the Trump-era border wall—the very wall she once called “un-American.” This pivot in messaging hasn’t gone unnoticed. In 2018, Harris condemned the wall, saying, “Dreamers should not be pitted against their families or traded away like some commodity in exchange for a un-American, $25 billion wall.”

The Trump campaign, however, isn’t buying Harris’ new tough-on-border stance. Karoline Leavitt, the national press secretary for Trump’s campaign, blasted Harris, saying, “How much longer will the mainstream media allow Kamala Harris to hide and use staff to speak on her behalf? It’s DAY 37 of ZERO interviews and Kamala’s anonymous campaign sources are now claiming she supports President Trump’s border wall—this is a preposterous and false claim.”
