CHESAPEAKE, VA – A mass shooting took place inside a Walmart break room late Tuesday night that was said to have been committed by longtime “overnight team lead” employee, 31-year-old Andre Bing. Despite the outraged fomented every time a gun is shot in America, there is shockingly little photos of Bing circulating the internet. Normally legacy media jumps at every photo available, so why is this incident different?

Some on Twitter have come to the conclusion that they believe the media will bury the story due to the color of the now-deceased suspect, who happened to have been black. “And they were salivating because they just KNEW it was a white supremacist killing people in a Walmart,” one user wrote.

The Chesapeake Police Department has released a photo of Bing, which is below. However, so far, at the time of this writing, most news outlets appear to be opting to make their headline photos that of the crime scene, as well as not including a photo of Bing in their story.

Bing was said to be starting a team meeting around 10:00 pm in Walmart’s employee breakroom. According to an employee who worked under Bing for about two moths, Briana Tyler, Bing told the team, “All right guys, we have a light night ahead of us.” Bing then reportedly turned around and opened fire on the room full of about a dozen employees.

While Tyler never had a problem with Bing before Tuesday’s shooting, she said that she was warned that he was “the manager to look out for,” apparently because he was nitpicky and wrote people up a lot. “He just liked to pick, honestly,” she said. “I think he just looked for little things to go about because he had the authority. That’s just the type of person that he was. That’s what a lot of people said about him.”

Bing shot and killed six people before shooting and killing himself. About 50 people were reportedly inside the Walmart location at the time of the shooting. He was said to have committed all the shootings with a handgun, and the City of Chesapeake said he had multiple magazines on his person.

Police said that the bodies of two victims and Bing were found in the breakroom, while another deceased person was found in the front of the store. Three others were transported to local hospitals and later died from their injuries. It’s unclear how many victims were also employees.

Donya Prioleau, another employee who knew Bing, told CNN that Bing had displayed “odd” behavior in the past. “He said a lot of disturbing things,” she said. “We don’t know what made him do this. None of us can understand why it happened.” Prioleau was in the breakroom at the time of the shooting. She said many of them didn’t believe the shooting was real until they saw blood.

Employee Jessie Wilczewski hid under a table when Bing started shooting. She said Bing pointed his gun at her and told her to go home.

Bing was “condescending when he spoke to us,” Prioleau said. “He didn’t have good communication skills. He was quite mean to a lot of us.”

Shaundrayia Reese worked with Bing for three years, from 2015-2018. She said he had always been a loner who didn’t trust the government. “He was always saying the government was watching him,” she said. “He didn’t like social media, and he kept black tape on his phone camera. Everyone always thought something was wrong with him. He didn’t like to be recorded. He was always scared that the government was listening.”

Bing so far appears to have been unknown to law enforcement prior to the shooting. There is no released motive at the time of this writing.

Chesapeake Police Chief Mark Solesky said that four victims remain in the hospital on Wednesday, with two of them being listed in critical condition.
