The Federal government, Coast Guard, military branches, etc., have to show their compelling interest and evaluate the situation of each individual person in order to deny them a religious exemption, explained attorney Mat Staver.

“They can’t do a blanket denial.” And the Coast Guard did just that, issuing blanket denials based on a computer-generated response.
