Although the Democrats supposedly won the 2020 election, the party has continued their attacks on former President Donald Trump as they support federal charges being brought against him. The constant accusations hurled at Trump are nothing new, as they dominated the headlines for the past six years. From the moment Trump entered the White House, the Democrats schemed to find a way to impeach him, remove him, and make sure his time in Washington, D.C., was contained to one term. But it wasn’t just the Democrats, some Republicans, often referred to as RINOs, also sought to tarnish Trump. And it seems that one of those who promoted impeaching Trump, Senator Ben Sasse, is reportedly resigning from his position to be the president of the University of Florida.

While just a rumor for now, if Senator Ben Sasse was to vacate his seat, Nebraska Governor Peter Ricketts, a Republican, would appoint a replacement. That replacement would only serve till 2025, which means that both seats in the Senate for Nebraska could be up for grabs in 2024. For those who might not know exactly who Senator Ben Sasse is, the Center for Effective Lawmaking ranked him among the most ineffective senators in office.

One person who was more than thrilled about the news was former President Donald Trump. He jumped on Truth Social to celebrate the victory. “Great news for the United States Senate and our Country itself. Liddle’ Ben Sasse, the lightweight Senator from the great State of Nebraska, will be resigning. If he knew he was going to resign so early in his term, why did he run in the first place? But it’s still great news! The University of Florida will soon regret its decision to hire him as its President. We have enough weak and ineffective RINOs in our midst. I look forward to working with the terrific Republican Party of Nebraska to get a REAL Senator to represent the incredible People of that State, not another Fake RINO!”

Fans of the University of Florida weren’t all that excited about Ben Sasse moving in, as some users wrote, “The University System of Florida is so stinking infested with leftists and neo-con squishes that it will take nothing short of shutting the whole thing down and firing every employee to fix it.” Another person added, “Totally agree-somebody with power in Florida, such as Governor DeSantis, should immediately contact the University of Florida and put a stop on hiring the traitor Ben Sasse… I’m sure that many of you Florida alumni agree with me….”

One user was just happy, “Sasse is one of the worst of the RINO senators. Ricketts is a pretty solid conservative governor, so we will likely get a reasonably solid senatorial appointee. Definitely an upgrade from Sasse.”
