This review paper explored the interplay between the microbiome, the host immune system, and pathogens. The authors stated that “the gastrointestinal (GI) microbiome has been shown to be a significant player in the host immune system, acting as a key regulator of immunity and host defense mechanisms. An increasing body of evidence indicates that disruption of the homeostasis between the GI microbiome and the host immune system can adversely impact viral immunity.”

Besides the (ridiculous) authors’ claim that climate change leads to more people getting sick, this publication provides an excellent overview of the importance of the gut’s microbiome (in fact, 70-80% of our immune system is located in the gut).
Healthy Gut = Well-functioning Immune System
If there were really a “deadly pandemic,” the global health response should have been as follows (incl. links to scientific publications that support my claims):
Reducing the intake of sugar (“a high sugar intake may stagger the balance of microbiota to have increased pro-inflammatory properties and decreased the capacity to regulate epithelial integrity and mucosal immunity.”
Promoting exercises (“Physical exercise is a modulator of the intestinal microbiome.”
Promoting vitamin D (“vitamin D supplementation increased the overall diversity of the gut microbiota, and in particular the increased the relative abundance of Bacteroidetes and decreased the relative abundance of Firmicutes.”
Promoting omega-3 fatty acids (“our data indicate a strong correlation between omega-3 fatty acids and microbiome composition.”
Instead of health-promoting measures, we’ve seen the opposite, which, in my opinion, caused millions of deaths. Back in the time, this was called: mass murder.
