The Democrats are pulling out all the stops as the 2022 midterms are right around the corner. For almost the past two years, Joe Biden has resided in the White House, and in that time, he struggled to address the Southern border crisis, the COVID-19 pandemic, inflation, which is only up an “inch,” soaring gas prices, and the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. With so many stumbles and fumbles, some experts have suggested that the GOP will gain heavy ground this coming November. And with the Democrats increasingly worried about their status in D.C. diminishing, Republicans like Representative Matt Gaetz admitted to what should be the top priority if the GOP wins, and just a hint – it doesn’t look good for Biden.

In the video, which can be watched below, Matt Gaetz revealed the agenda of the Republicans if they take back the majority in the midterms. He told Steve Bannon, the host of The War Room, insisted the GOP was “not to go hold hands in the warm spring rain with the Democrats, it is to investigate them, hold them accountable and we can do that without the Senate, without the White House.” He added, “And that’s why it should be investigations first (and) policy, bill-making to support the lobbyists and the PACs as a far, far diminished priority.”

Not stopping there, Representative Matt Gaetz declared to the Democrats and the GOP, “If we don’t engage in impeachment inquiries to get the documents and the testimony and the information we need, then I believe that our voters will feel betrayed and that likely, that could be the biggest win the Democrats could hope for in 2024, when it really matters to investigate them and to hold them accountable.”

While Matt Gaetz wants to hold Joe Biden accountable, he admitted some members are hesitant to go after the Biden administration. “So the War Room posse needs to be leveled with, that there are current members of the Republican majority, people who will be in the next Congress, who are arguing very, very fervently that they will oppose the use of the ‘I’ word, impeachment, in any context for any official in the Biden administration. And I believe that would totally misunderstand the mandate that the American people are giving us.”

Users online gave their take on what the government should do, writing, “We the people want a functional government, characterized by leadership with integrity that refuses to violate the public trust, that promote unity, project calm, cooperate with the sitting president and opposing party and pass legislation that is beneficial to the country and its citizens. Not more division, obstruction, and threats to deliver more infantile revenge politics. Enough.”
