BALTIMORE, MD – A 57-year-old Marine Corps veteran who stopped an armed attacker during an incident this past July is now facing jail time after his act of heroism, as this veteran was hit with two gun charges regarding the lawfully-owned firearm which he carried on him at the time of the incident.

On July 4th, 57-year-old Marine Corps veteran Lloyd Muldrow had traveled to Baltimore to visit a friend of his, who was identified in a fundraiser for his legal defense as Marshal Collins.

Muldrow was reportedly meeting up with his friend Collins and others at Tequila Sunset in Baltimore when a man identified as 65-year-old Wesley Henderson became upset when seeing his ex-girlfriend dancing with Collins. Reportedly, Henderson shoved Collins and then pistol-whipped him over the head.

Speaking of the incident, Muldrow stated, “When I got there, I saw him bleeding profusely from his head. It looked like he had a gunshot wound to his forehead. He was bleeding so badly that I couldn’t do anything but react. I saw the guy with the pistol in his hand, and I hit the guy and knocked him down. We went to the ground, and I secured the pistol from him.”

After Henderson was knocked to the ground, Muldrow and Collins reportedly held him down until police arrived on the scene. Prior to officers arriving, Henderson’s firearm went missing amid the chaos, with Muldrow’s attorney Michael Stark noting that investigators admitted, “It’s a pretty common occurrence in Baltimore that, by the time they get there, the gun has disappeared. And that’s what happened in this case.”

However, as seen on bodycam footage from the incident, responding officers asked if anyone was armed. Muldrow volunteered that he had his lawfully-owned firearm holstered on his hip – which was never produced during the originating incident.

Henderson was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, and the responding officers at first were thanking Muldrow for his heroic intervention. That is until a supervising officer on the scene made the decision to place Muldrow under arrest for charges relating to violating a city ordinance banning handguns within 100 feet of a public building as well as carrying and transporting a concealed weapon.

In a statement regarding his arrest over his lawfully-owned firearm, Muldrow expressed outrage that his concealed carry permit from Virginia, alongside his extensive military and weapons training, wasn’t taken into consideration.

“I’ve carried overseas in different countries, and you’re telling me I can’t carry my weapon from one state to another? I’ve trained more than the average police officer, and I can’t carry from Virginia to Maryland. I have a real big problem with that.”

Muldrow’s attorney, who is intent on taking the case to trial, is equally outraged over the matter, saying, “Lloyd Muldrow is an accomplished Marine, a self-defense instructor, and a church-going mentor to young people. Now, because of Maryland’s outdated and possibly unconstitutional gun laws, he faces jail as if he were every bit as criminally-minded as Mr. Henderson, rather than the selfless hero for his country and his friends that he proved himself to be.”

This heroic veteran, who faces up to a year in prison plus fines, has zero intentions of taking a plea deal in the case, emphasizing that he feels his arrest alone violates the Second Amendment. Muldrow’s next court appearance is slated for October 31st.
