When it comes to mistakes being made in the White House, most look to Joe Biden since he has said and done some pretty outlandish things over the last two years. Not looking on the agenda side, Biden mysteriously shook the hands of an imaginary person, repeatedly forgot he currently acted like the Commander and Chief, and the somewhat famous of all – stumbling not once but three times while boarding Air Force One. But apparently, his second in command, Kamala Harris, who has been distant from the media for some time, has picked up a few antics from Amtrak Joe as she recently mixed up South Korea, an ally of the United States, with North Korea.
That’s right, Kamala Harris has spent the last week touring Asia. She shook hands with top officials, had discussions with politicians, and even gave speeches. But her starlight moment came at the end when she visited the Korean Demilitarized Zone on Thursday. In the video, which is featured below, Harris declared, “The United States shares a very important relationship, which is an alliance with the Republic of North Korea. It is an alliance that is strong and enduring.”
What made the moment worse, Kamala Harris didn’t notice her mix-up and continued with, “I cannot state enough that the commitment of the United States to the defense of the Republic of Korea is iron-clad and that we will do everything in our power to ensure that it has meaning in every way that the words suggest. In the South, we see a thriving democracy. In the North, we see a brutal dictatorship.”
It should also be noted that Kamala Harris flashing her support for North Korea comes as the country launched numerous missiles over the last week.
Not all that surprising, but the gaffe from Harris came only one day after Joe Biden forgot that Representative Jackie Walorski passed away in a car crash just one month ago. On Wednesday, the Democrat spoke at a White House Conference and took a moment to praise the Republican and all the work she did on the Hunger, Nutrition, and Health campaign. But again, she passed away in August. Biden said, “Jackie, are you here? Where’s Jackie? She must not be here.”
For those who might believe Joe Biden simply didn’t know, at the time of her death, he released the following statement. “Jill and I are shocked and saddened by the death of Congresswoman Jackie Walorski of Indiana along with two members of her staff in a car accident today in Indiana. We may have represented different parties and disagreed on many issues, but she was respected by members of both parties for her work on the House Ways and Means Committee on which she served. She also served as co-chair of the House Hunger Caucus, and my team and I appreciated her partnership as we plan for a historic White House Conference on Hunger, Nutrition, and Health this fall that will be marked by her deep care for the needs of rural America.”
