BUCKS COUNTY, PA – A Catholic, pro-life advocate was arrested earlier in September after armed FBI agents burst into his home for the alleged offense of “shoving” a man in 2021 who was accosting and intimidating his then-12-year-old son.

On September 23rd at approximately 7:00 a.m., Mike Houck was at his home with his wife Ryan-Marie and their seven children when when their house was surrounded by roughly 15 vehicles. Approximately 25 to 50 armed FBI came pouring out and began “pounding on the door and yelling for us to open it,” according to Ryan-Marie.

Ryan-Marie says her husband Mark tried to calm the FBI agents down before opening the door, telling the agents, “Please, I’m going to open the door, but, please, my children are in the home. I have seven babies in the house,” yet the agents continued to pound on the door while screaming for him to open up.

After opening the door, Ryan-Marie stated the FBI agents, “had big, huge rifles pointed at Mark and pointed at me and kind of pointed throughout the house,” with the agents ordering the seven children to go upstairs while they dealt with Houck and Ryan-Marie.

When the couple asked what the purpose of the raid was, the agents informed the two that they were there to arrest Houck . Rightfully concerned, Ryan-Marie reportedly asked the agents to produce the warrant, which she says the agents responded with “that they were going to take him whether they had a warrant or not.”

After Ryan-Marie objected to what the FBI agents had told her, telling them, “you can’t just come to a person’s house and kidnap them at gunpoint,” the agents eventually agreed to retrieve the arrest warrant from their vehicle.

Upon seeing the warrant, what commanded this armed FBI raid with guns drawn is all the more unsettling, as Biden’s Justice Department is accusing Houck of violating the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act for allegedly shoving a man who was harassing his son at the time of the incident.

According to a press release from the Justice Department regarding Houck’s charging, Biden’s DOJ is asserting that Houck “twice assaulted a man because he was a volunteer reproductive health care clinic escort” at a Planned Parenthood in Philadelphia on October 13th of 2021.

Per the DOJ’s press release, prosecutors claim that the 72-year-old man allegedly shoved by Houck, identified only as “B.L.” in the release, was merely “attempting to escort two patients exiting the clinic” when Houck allegedly shoved him the first time and further claim Houck later “verbally confronted B.L. and forcefully shoved B.L. to the ground” again.

If convicted of the offense, Houck could face up to 11 years in prison.

When Ryan-Marie realized the reason for her husband’s arrest, she admitted to being familiar with the matter, noting that this exact case had been thrown own by the District Court in Philadelphia before being picked up by Biden’s DOJ.

For several years, Houck had been driving to two different abortion clinics in Philadelphia to offer “sidewalk counsel,” which is perfectly legal under First Amendment protections.

Ryan-Marie explained that on numerous occasions in 2021, Houck brought their then 12-year-old son along with him during the sidewalk counsels outside of abortion clinics in Philadelphia. During some of these trips, Houck and his son had the unfortunate introduction to a “pro-abortion protester” who would repeatedly directly confront the young boy with “crude” insults like “you’re dad’s a fag,” and others Ryan-Marie described as being too vulgar to repeat.

Houck reportedly told this aggressive pro-abortion advocate that he didn’t have permission to speak with or approach his son, but Ryan-Marie says this individual “kept doing it and kind of came into [our son’s] personal space.” After the repeated accosting of the young child, Ryan-Marie said, “Mark shoved him away from his child, and the guy fell back.”

Ryan-Marie added that this antagonist “didn’t have any injuries or anything, but he tried to sue Mark,” but stated that the case was thrown out of court this past summer.

A GiveSendGo fundraiser has since been established to help Houck’s family during this difficult time.
