While the FBI seems focused on former President Donald Trump and the documents he supposedly possessed, they remain silent on the son of Joe Biden. Once deemed Russian disinformation, the famous laptop turned out to be authentic, and its contents were a glimpse into the wild, drug-fueled life of Hunter Biden. With video and audio clips still coming out, the mainstream media spent a great deal of time refusing to speak on it. And while they might say otherwise, over the weekend, a CNN reporter discussed how the issue wasn’t explored enough.

On Sunday, reporter Sara Sidner jumped on Twitter to address the Hunter Biden laptop and declared it should not “be a partisan issue.” She wrote, “There are serious questions that should be asked about Hunter Biden. H’s not an elected official, but legitimate questions should be asked and answered about his former business dealings and how it was handled by the FBI. This shouldn’t [sic] be a partisan issue.” She even added a link to Yahoo! Story titled, “New Hunter Biden Revelations Raise Counterintelligence Questions.”

Having worked for CNN, Sara Sidner was sure to give credit to the news outlet for supposedly reporting the facts. “Not to say there has not been some good reporting done by many outlets already.”

Being Twitter, it didn’t take long before the comment section filled up with activists like actor Jon Cusack, who wrote, “L I k e what? Are you gonna ask the same questions about bill bars [sic] Ties to Epstein? Through his daddy? His obstruction of Mueller [sic], Lying to congress – child abduction? No – how about bush [Cheney] Rumsfeld ties to privatized war economy? Gimme a break.”

Others, like Tim Fullerton, suggested the entire Hunter Biden story be ignored. “Can anyone explain to me why this is a story other than the GOP made it one? The only way this is a real story is if somehow Biden somehow did illegal to make his son rich. Do the people at CNN have any evidence that happened? And if they don’t (which they don’t), why cover it?”

Over recent months, CNN has gone under a dramatic shift thanks to its new CEO, Chris Licht. Under his guidance, both Brain Stelter and White House correspondent John Harwood were let go. Harwood’s exit came after he supported President Biden’s remarks toward MAGA Republicans, admitting, “The Republican Party right now is led by a dishonest demagogue. Many, many Republicans are rallying behind his lies about the 2020 election and other things as well. And a significant portion—or a sufficient portion—of the constituency that they’re leading attacked the Capitol on Jan. 6 violently. By offering pardons or suggesting pardons for those people who violently attacked the Capitol, which you’ve been pointing out numerous times this morning, Donald Trump made Joe Biden’s point for him.”
