At the beginning of September, Attorneys General Eric Schmitt of Missouri and Jeff Landry of Louisiana shared early results of documents received from a lawsuit filed, which show censorship collaboration between the Biden administration and social media giants Facebook and Twitter.

In the documents received thus far in connection to the lawsuit (more details on that below), it has been proven that officials with the Department of Homeland Security and the Department of Health and Human Services sent Facebook and Twitter employees emails asking for “misinformation” posts to be flagged (or, censored). They also asked for “talking points” to be provided over the censored posts.

This explains why specific posts were grayed out with the “missing context” or “fact checked” buttons appearing beneath them, complete with a link to “learn more” about the official narrative (or, stop thinking for yourself). It also explains accounts whose owners lean right-of-center politically being suspended and banned without any right to appeal.

With the attorneys general having publicly shared many of the documents they’ve received thus far (albeit redacted copies), why is there little to no mention of this in the media? That question is rhetorical, of course, as it can be assumed that we know exactly why.

The time has come for real accountability, including that of the legacy media who is complicit in reducing the First Amendment rights of at least half of Americans to almost nothing. In a free society, citizens are able to discuss matters openly, bringing in different viewpoints, sources, and information.

In current American society by way of social media and legacy media, we are not a free society. We have one narrative shoved down our throats, and to question it is to participate in “domestic terrorism.” To provide studies or information that go against that narrative is “dangerous,” “misinformation,” or “conspiracy theory.” To offer other opinions is to be “hateful” or somehow “racist.”

This can’t continue, lest we regress fully into Marxism. The solution is not simple, but it is necessary: We must leave social media giants. We must turn off legacy media. We must counter the narrative by whatever means we have at our disposal (anyone can write a letter to a local news editor!). We must call on our legislators to act as well.

We also must join together to combat this oppression of First Amendment rights. Lawsuits should be hanging over the head of every outlet- national and local- who refuses to report accurate news in favor of aligning with whatever agenda they’re commanded to follow.

In May, the attorneys general “filed a landmark lawsuit against top ranking Biden Admin. officials for colluding with social media companies to censor free speech,” Schmitt said in a tweet. Schmitt and Landry won the case in July, with the Court requiring the Biden administration to hand over documents containing communication between them and social media companies. “We have already received documents that show their cozy relationship, and now we’re demanding more.”

The “cozy relationship” to which Schmitt referred was one based on censoring a certain subsection of Americans, mainly the ones that questioned the mainstream narrative regarding COVID-19. All this, of course, was in the name of “misinformation” being spread online, or, in other words, information that contradicted information being put out by government agencies and/or personnel.

So far, documents confirm that “45 federal officials at DHS, CISA, the CDC, NIAID, and the Office of the Surgeon General (all of which are contained in either DHS or HHS)…communicate with social media platforms about ‘misinformation’ and censorship.” Thirty-two of those were from Meta, which runs Facebook and Instagram.

“The Department of Justice is cowering behind executive privilege and has refused to turn over communications between the highest-ranking Biden Administration officials and social media companies,” Schmitt and Landry said in a joint September 1 press release. “That’s why, yesterday, we asked the Court to compel the Department of Justice to produce those records. We’re just getting started – stay tuned.

“The discovery provided so far demonstrates that this Censorship Enterprise is extremely broad, including officials in the White House, HHS, DHS, CISA, the CDC, NIAID, and the Office of the Surgeon General; and evidently other agencies as well, such as the Census Bureau, the FDA, the FBI, the State Department, the Treasury Department, and the U.S. Election Assistance Commission. And it rises to the highest levels of the U.S. Government, including numerous White House officials.”
