NEW YORK CITY, NY – According to reports, former Trump advisor Steve Bannon is facing a new indictment out of New York where sources close to the political commentator say he’s slated to turn himself into authorities on September 8th.

While details on the new indictment haven’t been confirmed by officials, there’s speculation the charges may be related to a fundraising campaign aimed at constructing a border wall along the southern border.

News of Bannon’s indictment out of New York was first reported at The Washington Post, where the outlet acknowledged officials haven’t shared “precise details of the state case,” but anonymous sources “suggested the prosecution will likely mirror aspects of the federal case in which Bannon was pardoned.”

The federal case where Trump pardoned Bannon shortly before leaving office relates to a fundraiser dubbed “We Build The Wall,” where in August of 2020, the Justice Department indicted Bannon along with three others for allegedly defrauding donors in the fundraising campaign.

In the August 2020 federal indictment, prosecutors alleged that Bannon had “through a non-profit organization under his control…received over $1 million from We Build the Wall, at least some of which Bannon used to cover hundreds of thousands of dollars in Bannon’s personal expenses.”

However, since Trump issued a pardon for Bannon in the abovementioned case, that put a stop to the Justice Department’s efforts to criminally pursue him for the alleged exploits.

As for the three others listed in the August 2020 federal indictment (Brian Kolfage, Andrew Badolato, and Timothy Shea), Kulfage pleaded guilty to wire fraud conspiracy and tax charges and Badolato pleaded guilty to wire fraud conspiracy. Shea opted to take his case to trial, where the jury wound up being deadlocked and a mistrial was declared this past June. A retrial is slated for October in Shea’s case.

But since presidential pardons only extend to federal cases, Bannon still remained vulnerable to state-charges regarding the alleged defrauding of donors. In his released statement pertaining to the latest indictment, Bannon suggested that this new case is synonymous with the federal indictment from August of 2020.

“Just days after being swatted three different times by deranged thugs from New York City inspired by the Biden Administration to assassinate me by police, the Soros-backed DA has now decided to pursue phony charges against me 60 days before the midterm election because WarRoom is the major source of the MAGA grassroots movement.

“The SDNY did the exact same thing in August 2020 to try to take me out of the election. It didn’t work then, it certainly won’t work now. This is nothing more than a partisan political weaponization of the criminal justice system.

“I am proud to be a leading voice on protecting our borders and building a wall to keep our country safe from drugs and violent criminals. The WarRoom show will be more vital, more intense, more urgent, and bigger this time.

“They are coming after all of us, not only President Trump and myself. I am never going to stop fighting. In fact, I have not yet begun to fight. They will have to kill me first.”
