During a recent appearance on “Fox and Friends,” Fox News host Maria Bartiromo joined the show to lend her take on the comments from White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre that asserted Republicans are somehow contributing to the issues impacting the southern border.
The comments from Jean-Pierre came on July 28th while speaking with Fox News’ Peter Doocy during a White House press briefing, where the topic of the ongoing crisis at the southern border was brought up.
Jean-Pierre rattled off accusations that what Republican governors are doing to combat the influx of illegal immigrants at the southern border is somehow “meddling in the process” and are only using the situation at the border for “political” purposes.
“That is shameful and that is just wrong. There is a process in place for managing migrants at the border, this is not it, what they’re doing…The way that they’re meddling in the process and using migrants as a political pawn is just wrong…They’re being used, Peter, they’re being used by Republican governors.”
When asked about Jean-Pierre’s comments made from the White House lectern, Bartiromo blasted the notion that somehow Republicans are the ones “using migrants as pawns,” pointing out that it’s Democrats who seem to be the ones habitually using the demographic to forward their agenda.
“I think Karine Jean-Pierre’s answer is about two words: As if. As if the border is closed. As if they are not conducting a dereliction of duty. As if they are not using migrants as pawns by keeping an open border and hope they will get Democrat voters. As if recession doesn’t mean recession. It’s all the same talking points, and it’s all the same ignoring anything that is absolutely against what the American people want.”
Bartiromo highlighted her upcoming special on Fox Nation slated to kick off on August 3rd titled “The Broken Border Crisis: Live Summit,” which will feature Bartiromo and others in in Edinburg, Texas, where the economic, political and human impacts stemming from the border crisis will be discussed.
After briefly plugging her upcoming special, Bartiromo continued her fiery rant aimed at the absurdities coming from the White House, reiterating that how Democrats have been treating the border crisis is a “dereliction of duty.”
“As if there weren’t massive amounts of fentanyl killing Americans getting seized at the border. As if people were not getting raped on their dangerous trek into America. It is all extraordinary and it’s all dereliction of duty, on top of all the other missteps of this administration.”
Reports show that since Biden took office, there have been over three million law enforcement encounters with illegal immigrants at the southern border, with the months of May and June of 2022 having nearly a quarter million illegal crossings each.
