KENNESAW, GA – A 24-year-old man who had an active warrant regarding a missed court date for an ongoing homicide case was arrested in Kennesaw earlier in August after he personally called the police over being served cold fries at a local McDonald’s.

On August 5th, 24-year-old Antoine Sims reportedly called 911 after having some sort of dispute with workers at a McDonald’s located off of Cobb Parkway. Responding officers who arrived at the scene asked Sims what the purpose of his call was, to which he explained to officers that he was basically upset over some cold fries.

“We ordered the food, but he couldn’t print out the receipt. So he said the receipt would be printed in the back, so we sat down…so I guess our order was called, but we don’t even know our order number. So now our food is sitting there cold. So when I come up…I try the fries, they’re lukewarm, but they’re not hot. So I asked him if we could get some fresh fries.”

After Sims explained in further detail the debacle surrounding cold fries and recounts the exchange he’s had with the McDonald’s employee. The officer makes his way over to the restaurant’s manager to get things from his perspective.

The McDonald’s manager claimed that Sims was being generally disruptive inside the establishment, making a scene over the cold food, and was offered a refund following the outburst. The manager told the officer that he wanted the individual trespassed from the store, and the responding officer obliged and went to inform Sims of the trespassing process.

Upon being informed that he was being trespassed from the McDonald’s, Sims began getting nervous, asking the officers whether he’s done anything wrong or if he was being arrested for anything. All of the officers on-scene reiterated time and again that Sims wasn’t in trouble or under arrest but that he simply needed to sign the paper acknowledging his trespassing from the establishment.

While holding the clipboard handed to him by the officer, Sims began backing away from the officers, telling them he was “afraid” of them before immediately booking it on foot. Officers on-scene immediately pursued him, tracking him down at a nearby apartment complex and taking him into custody after one officer deployed their taser.

It was later determined that Sims had a warrant out for his arrest out of Fulton County for missing a court date related to a 2018 homicide he was charged in connection with. After Sims was taken into custody, he was subsequently charged with criminal trespass, hindering law enforcement, and possession of a controlled substance with the intent to distribute after authorities reportedly found 31 grams of marijuana in his fiancée’s car.

The 2018 case in question allegedly consisted of what was believed to be a drug deal gone awry, where two men identified as Michael Smith and Deshaun Flournoy came to Sims’ home in 2018 to rob him under the guise of trying to buy some drugs. Smith’s girlfriend, identified as Adelisa Muratovic, was sitting inside a waiting vehicle when she was shot after gunfire broke out inside Sims’ home during the purported robbery.

Authorities allege Sims had jumped into Smith’s car, where Muratovic was shot dead inside and drove it to Lawrenceville, where he set the vehicle ablaze presumably to cover up any evidence. Sims and Smith, and Flournoy were all charged with felony murder in connection to Muratovic’s death.

Jail records show Sims is currently being held without bond at the Cobb County jail.
