ROME, GA – Republican Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene recently sat down with Right Side Broadcasting Network’s (RSBN) Brian Glenn to discuss the “swatting” incident directed at her from earlier in August, sharing the never-before-seen home security footage showcasing the police response following the false 911 call that triggered the incident.

As previously reported, Rep. Greene was subjected to a swatting during the early morning hours of August 24th. At the time, Rome Police responded to a 911 call where the caller alleged that someone had been “shot multiple times” at an address later determined to be the congresswoman’s.

Authorities later received a follow-up call from the original 911 caller, who admitted to being a trans activist who had been triggered over Rep. Greene’s “political view on transgender youth rights,” according to police.

No arrests have come since the original incident, as the 911 caller had masked their voice and presumably went to various lengths to make the original call difficult to trace.

On August 27th, Rep. Greene spoke with RSBN’s Glenn about the ordeal, remarking on how she’s been asleep at the time of the incident and was awoken to someone at her door – initially oblivious to it being police officers.

Rep. Greene mentioned how she would normally be toting her rifle when answering the door at such an hour but felt like there was something telling her not to come out bearing her firearm.

“Now something I normally do… I’m a gun owner, and I believe in protecting myself and protecting my home, protecting my kids – anyone that’s in my house. And if I’m going to come to the front door and someone’s coming over, and I don’t know who’s coming, I will bring a gun with me to the door…and I picked it up, of course, to carry it with me to the front door. And I picked it up, and I was ready, and I was like, ‘Okay, I’m going to go out there, I don’t know who’s here,’ but something inside me said don’t take that with you.”

According to Rep. Greene, the Georgia congresswoman followed her gut in those moments, which likely avoided what could’ve turned into a far more serious incident than what wound up playing out.

Showcasing both the footage from outside and inside of her home during the police response, Rep. Greene described the interaction she’d had with the responding officers who initially had their guns drawn due to the nature of the 911 call they received.

“So I just believe it was truly a God thing that I had that feeling not to carry that gun with me to the front door. Because had I have done that, we would’ve been in a whole different scenario because I probably would’ve been the target, and that is the whole purpose in swatting someone.”
