It didn’t take long after news broke that former President Donald Trump’s residence was raided by the FBI that top Republicans voiced their disdain for the situation. For the House minority leader, Kevin McCarthy, his reaction to the raid came with a warning to investigate the justice department after his party wins the midterms. He said, “I’ve seen enough. The Department of Justice has reached an intolerable state of weaponized politicization.” And while other members of the GOP shared the same thoughts as McCarthy, Indiana Representative Victoria Spartz discussed what appeared to be a tactic often used by the KGB. It should be noted that Spartz grew up in the Soviet Union.

Speaking with the Epoch Times, Victoria Spartz stated, “As a U.S. Congresswoman who grew up in the USSR, the FBI raid of President Trump’s home is alarming. It is reminiscent of KGB-style tactics.” The Republican added that the raid wasn’t a Democrat or GOP issue, yet a growing concern about the weaponization of the political system. “[R]egardless of people’s feelings about President Trump, this should not be acceptable in a democratic society. If the federal government can raid the home of a former president, all Americans should ask: what can 87,000 new IRS agents do to me?”

On top of many Republicans speaking out against the surprise raid on Trump’s residence in Florida, Jesse Watters exposed numerous details that were purposely being left out when it came to how the FBI handled the situation. Take a look.

While many are claiming that the raid came at the hands of President Joe Biden and his administration, according to his press secretary, Karine Jean-Pierre, the White House had no knowledge of it. “The president and the White House learned about this FBI search from public reports. We did not have advance notice of this activity.”

On the other side of the aisle, Congressman Don Beyer, a Democrat from Virginia, criticized McCarthy calling for an investigation into the FBI. “This man and his fellow bootlickers hid under a rock rather than respond every time Donald Trump called for persecution, investigation, imprisonment or violence against his political opponents. These same people talk about Trump like he’s above the law. He’s not above the law.”

Another Democrat, Congressman Ted Lieu continued, “It is a horrible precedent for the Department of Justice to investigate a former president of the United States. The only worse precedent would be for @TheJusticeDept not to investigate because the person happens to be a former President. No one is above the law.”

As for Donald Trump, he claimed the entire raid to be an attack orchestrated by the “Radical Left Democrats who desperately don’t want me to run for President in 2024, especially based on recent polls.”
