NEW YORK CITY, NY – Investigators released an unsettling video where a group of four unidentified suspects, possibly teenagers, opened fire on an unsuspecting 17-year-old victim in broad daylight earlier in August in Queens.

The shooting occurred at approximately 5:00 p.m. on August 8th in the Queens borough, where the video shows a group of four young black males adorned in ski masks walking along a sidewalk when one of the members of the group pointed toward the victim.

Suddenly, at least two of the masked suspects began firing at the victim multiple times, with the victim attempting to flee from the gunfire. Investigators say the 17-year-old victim sustained a gunshot wound to the right thigh and was transported over to Long Island Jewish Hospital in stable condition.

Authorities say the four suspects “fled on foot to parts unknown” following the unprovoked shooting, affording a very minimal description of the suspects that consisted of, “males approximately in their teens with dark complexions, slim builds and were all wearing facemasks.”

ABC 7 correspondent CeFaan Kim shared the video of the shooting on Twitter, noting that police have reason to believe the “shooting was part of a gang initiation,” considering the victim was reportedly targeted at random by the group.

The victim’s mother, who opted to remain unnamed while speaking with ABC 7, is reasonably distraught over the incident, telling the news outlet, “He could lose his life, just like that…They need to get the guns off the road. They need to do something about this.”

She added, “He’s OK right now, but he came from an interview [on the day of the shooting], and that’s when he hears shots and started to get shot up. Which is no good. It’s no good.”

Meanwhile, while teenagers are becoming the victims of random shootings in New York City, Mayor Eric Adams is spending his time boasting about how he wants to bus New Yorkers over to Texas in order to meddle in the state’s gubernatorial race.

One day after this teenage boy was shot in Queens, Mayor Adams held a press conference where he claimed that he was going to help boost Texas Governor Greg Abbott’s opponent in the gubernatorial race in the Lone Star State, with said ire stemming from his frustration that Texas has been busing illegal immigrants over the Mayor Adams’ sanctuary city.

“I already called all of my friends in Texas and told them how to cast their vote, and I am deeply contemplating taking a busload of New Yorkers to go to Texas and do some good, old-fashioned door-knocking. Because we have to, for the good of America, we have to get him out of office.”

It would be safe to say that Mayor Adams has enough on his plate to tend to in New York City before he decides to play politics in a state roughly 1,700 miles away from his own.
